  1. Mike p2f will love that trade for you
  2. I guess. I love Cobb but he's pretty old
  3. I thought the Dodgers would have a genius plan for him but I guess not
  4. traded the farm for 80 innings from Josh Johnson and Jose Reyes' worthless free agent contract #Legacy
  5. MLB.com in 2011 had Hellickson #2 haha Trout - Hellickson - Harper These were the Drabek, Lawrie, Arencibia days. Toronto's farm was sort of stacked. Sanchez, d'Arnaud, Thames, Syndergaard, Wojo, Grant's favourite prospect Zach Stewart, future #4 workhorse Decklyn McGueer, handsome Jake, Henderson Alvarez of future fleeting dominance, Deck McGuire 2.0 aka Chadley Jonkins, and who could forget perennial gold glove candidate Adeiny ECHavarrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeyaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! What a farm system!!!
  6. There were 2011 rankings that went Harper then Trout. I believe some publications even had guys like Dom Brown, Jeremy Hellickson, Jesus Montero, and Matt Moore extremely close. And I mean s*** like Hellickson ahead of Harper...
  7. If his problems are mental, then demoting him makes sense. Mental reset. If his problems are physical (fitness), then demoting him does not make sense from the perspective of making Manoah better. He's not going to be skinnier in Buffalo. But he has been so bad that you can justify demoting him simply to get a better SP in the rotation. So.... you have to send him packing very soon. I would say TODAY but the team clearly wants to give him some more chances. At this point you kind of start thinking "what is going to motivate this guy to get in better shape in the winter". 2023 almost becomes a lost cause.
  8. Kinda nice that he is missing on this side of the equation though
  9. If Harper was medically retired tomorrow, he's not a hall of famer. It would be a David Wright situation. If Harper can play well into his mid 30s then he'll make it.
  10. He's completely lost. The only good thing is that this is Vlad at his worst... and he's still a decent bat.
  11. This is why "peak" WAR matters quite a bit for HOF consideration.

Sir the prices everywhere are insane A McDonalds combo with no coupons is like $14
  13. Widely reported. It's not known. I don't think AA has ever commented on that. All we know is that he was offered a 5 year extension and turned it down.
  14. I dunno man, look at everyone behind him. Chances are players #2 and #3 on their board at the time also suck.
  15. I'm not sure that's the case. He just didn't win enough hardware or develop a rock-solid reputation on either side of the ball. Like, Yadier Molina was a 10 time AS and 9 time GG. Posey 7 time AS, MVP, ROY, five time SS. Russell had 4 AS, one GG, one SS. His offensive reputation was sandbagged by batting average bias and on the defensive side the fancy stats loved his framing but I don't think traditional baseball people thought of him as like, almost the best defensive catcher in baseball, even though Fangraphs would say he was top 3 for most of his career. Brian McCann is in the exact same boat as Russell. If you look at the catchers in baseball historically then you can make a really strong argument that McCann and Russell deserve to be in the hall of fame. But isn't that kind of like the argument for putting relievers in there?

Boston Pizza has something for the whole family!
  17. We simply do not know the complete story The public comments by Shapiro might have come after AA had made it clear in some way that he wasn't sticking around I am not sure that Shapiro really wanted control over the MLB side of things. From what we have seen he's not super interested in that.
  18. Martin was also wildly successful in some of the soft, "team leader" ways The guy made the playoffs in... 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2019
  19. you cannot tell me this guy is straight
  20. Have you ever looked at Anthony Bass? I don't want to be offensive but I am pretty sure he's gay, so he just has to do this stuff from time to time to hide his Grindr lifestyle. I mean he looks super gay.
