  1. He doesn't really need three days off in a row and there is no telling what the next game will present
  2. I didn't want to say anything in case he went on the give up back to back homers
  3. RJ Barrett was a huge liability for the entire end of the game but then God bailed him out
  4. Should be a rule against that Anything in the zone or above/below it cannot be a HBP Must be a ball inside to be HBP eligible
  5. Is game day wrong or did Buttman just get hit by a strike?
  6. Probably more about the pitch count than anything but they would also have a fatigue model that uses all of this info: Pitch count Inning count Pitches per inning Number of up-downs Maybe other stuff like weather, pitch types being thrown, favourite mario kart character, sexual preference, what he had for breakfast, girth, and so forth There is science based on their fatigue unit regression models, and that is distilled to the stupid coaches and is probably something like: 70 P max, and 3 up-downs max, and never 35+ P in one inning
  7. I think it's just their pitching progression development model now Tiedemann was a 2021 draftee who threw 78.2 innings in 2022 across three levels (aggressive promotion to AA) and he was going 5 innings or at least 4 in most of those starts, until he hit AA. King was a 2024 draftee who threw 61.2 innings in 2025, between the complex and A ball. They weren't as aggressive with him. Did not push his levels and did not push his innings. Similar kind of stuff but RT would have been more polished right away (walk rate tells us that). King being 19 for three more months, I bet they just want to see close to 100 healthy innings for him this year. Maybe not even that many. They probably regret pushing RT to AA back in 2022 and regret not building up his innings more deliberately. There are not a lot of other Toronto data points. Here are all of the High School SP they drafted and signed after the RT draft: Nolan Perry - had injury issues Stanifer - wasn't very good in 2023, 2024 but they let him loose in 2025 at 21 years old when his talent broke through Maroudis - got hurt in 2024 Carson Messina - elbow soreness took his whole season, will be on the FCL roster this year to start, huge helium potential if he has his velo still 🔥 Troy Guthrie Johnny King I think the youngest MLB SP who was a domestic draft pick was Elmer Rodriguez. He was a 2021 draftee. His progression: 2022: 38.1 innings, 2023: 55.1 innings injury (King is here), 2024: 89.2 innings, 2025: 150 innings
  8. Springer
  9. that seems weird so he has mono or cancer I guess
  10. Yeah The funny thing about this is that for high level fantasy baseball (big money leagues) a lot of the "skill" left for participants to exercise is just head-projecting playing time, which is impossible to do with high accuracy Everybody uses the same projection systems for production and the same auction value calculators, but if you can correctly intuit that Joe Speedy is going to get 550 PA instead of 250 PA for some reason, that can make your entire draft and year and career I think the manual part of Fangraphs' Depth Charts is that they work off of the Roster Resource depth charts, which I understand are updated by human beings
  11. Their season projections would change as the Fangraphs Depth Chart projections change People are manually adjusting those playing time guesses for injuries so yes Crochet should have just lost some innings
  12. What if he hits .400 with 15 homers one year
  13. The uncomfortable truth is that we need Eric Lauer for another solid month or two. Berrios is broken, obviously. Scherzer I have no faith. I don't like the colour of Eric Lauer's hair or the shape of his stupid mouth but I have more faith that he can put together a string of half-decent starts
  14. Meh, give him the benefit of the doubt for now. It's a solo homer. Guys like him sometimes give up a run or two right away and then settle in for 6 clean.
  15. Where did Eloy's power even go? 2024: .099 ISO in MLB 2025: 3 homers in 215 MiLB PA 2026: 1 homer in MLB/AAA combined
  16. Apparently he's clear and is throwing off a mound. Should see him in Buffalo soon, unless he just gets hurt again. Had a sore elbow in spring.
  17. Always a good time to check on this: Roki Sasaki career: -0.5 fWAR Myles Straw as a Blue Jay: +2 fWAR in 160 games (only 348 PA though lmao) Living proof that even 30 grade power speedsters should probably NOT just slap the ball on the ground. Try to hit it hard.
  18. Yup and that's all on top of the Yesavage grand slam and the hugely positive bullpen development trends (Fisher, Flu, others)
  19. Not sure I have ever seen a collection of emerging arms like Toronto has right now. Yes it's early and they could flop or get hurt but... Johnny King has a 44.2% K rate in A+ at 19 Gage Stanifer is rounding into MLB ready form and has a 31.3% K rate in AA at 22 Nolan Perry has a 38.7% K-BB in A ball and the stuff is popping Daniel Guerra has 24.1 innings and a 22.1% K-BB, near the top of the affiliated MiLB leaderboards if you look for guys who have been "normal starters" so far . He has looked fantastic. Danny Thompson Jr. was an 8th rounder last year and he has a 33.9% K-BB in A ball Dylan Watts has a 21.8% K-BB in A ball and a plus (or better) changeup to go with a plus FB Landen Maroudis is alive Chad Dallas is looking like a potential swing-man again in AAA Troy Guthrie is a name. I haven't seen stuff numbers but his breaking ball(s) are being described as nasty. He's up to 93 so needs to add a bit of velo, but this was an 11th rounder. Reece Wissinger is a UDFA with a 110 Stuff+ fastball with 20 IVB. Just promoted to Vancouver. Relief prospect. You also have Tiedemann and Bloss around.
  20. I'm feeling Pinango. If he does not start, Sanchez.
  21. Yeah on top of the great pen performance so far, the depth is quite good Yimi back in a month or so, hopefully Little high upside in AAA Chase Lee, decent potential in AAA Mantiply performing very well in low leverage at MLB Y Rod is doing great in AAA Dallas and Juenger both doing fine in AAA Adam Macko converting to an RP doing okay Javen Coleman in AA has set himself out as a legit RP prospect
