    If you just care about boxscores, there are some tighter options. But nothing I am aware of has the strikezone display and live pitch tracking that gameday does

    It's just amazing how MLB keeps making Gameday worse. Every year, it is a bit worse. They could make the desktop experience so cool and information rich if they wanted. But no. It's basically what you'd expect from a little Boxscore viewer inside the Yahoo Fantasy app or some s*** like that.

    Manfred could have said it better. Basically, the called strike zone is a bit different than the defined strike zone because of a process of natural evolution between hitters and pitchers and umps. The game ITSELF has more or less decided that certain corner pitches are not strikes, because everyone involved agrees it would be dumb if they are strikes. Trying to think of an example from another sport. The old "neighbourhood" play at second base in baseball used to be like this; umps would give the infielder the out even if they stepped over the bag. But they legislated that away. In hockey, players often technically ice the puck but as long as they were close to the red line the referees don't call it.

    I think the human brain would just be / is naturally better at calling a circle or oval it's sort of easy to imagine the centre of the zone and judge balls or strikes based on how far the pitch is from the middle it's not as easy to imagine a rectangle floating in space and judge whether or not a ball touched the corner of it the problem is that the circle or oval would be harder to define in writing. it's easy to define the floating rectangle in writing. hmmmm

    Want to move Blackmon and Waino for draft picks. Could move any other OF for a good 2B.

    He's a 24.5 year old finished product with 1856 minor league plate appearances. This isn't some guy who is going to develop much more (or at all) in the minors. Simply put, the Blue Jays are probably a better 26 man roster if Lopez is on there over Lukes. The assumption that the 26th man will never really play only holds true if the 26th man sucks. If you have a good 26th man, he can swim move his way into decent playing time as the season rolls along.

    Basically, nobody has wanted to leave in a while and we haven't landed on an obvious reason to boot anybody. Carlos has been the next one up for like 2 years.

    note - adds count is an approximation for most trades and days logged in are actual props to TCA for logging in 362 days of the year lol also props to BTS for being at or near 100 adds and leading the league in trades. wow. my concerns lie with: havok, thehurl, speedy, goldbull, eze, and dinger. to varying degrees and for different reasons... most are just evident on the chart, but dinger seems pretty disinterested. 0 trades from p2f in a year is rough. is he mentally checked out of this league? single digit adds in a dynasty league all year is just brutal. twenty adds is dogshit, who are we kidding?

    It's definitely hard for me to find trades in the DDL but that's just because my roster is so stacked. Very few teams can even offer me an upgrade. Sigh.

    Simply put, the Blue Jays are not taking the best team north. If Lukes over Lopez a big deal? No. Does it really matter that Pearson is starting in AAA? Probably not. But if the team does not get off to a fast start there will be some I-told-you-sos

    If Lukes barely plays I guess it makes sense But, they are better as a 26 man roster with Lopez on there IMO

    We have tried various little leagues over time and they never really stick I remember starting an auction keeper, and a salary league My SENSE in the DDL is that there are a few owners who don't really have time or pay much attention, but I have done e-mail blasts seeing if anyone wants to step aside before and nobody does. I was in the BBDL / BORED threads all offseason trying to convince them to contract and morph into a different type of league as well, so that we don't have three identical 20 teamers. It's kind of funny to me that the one league decided to bring in randoms through fantrax rather than just contract or fold. I dunno. Maybe we are fine. Maybe we should shake things up.
