  1. I'm ashamed of you. You've known me long enough to get it.
  2. It's insane
  3. Okay but if the team sucks and isn't good enough what will your excuse be THEN!? WILL YOU APOLOGIZE TO THE LEVEL HEADED POSTERS WHO PLAYED BOTH SIDES AND NEVER HAD A STRONG OPINION AND WERE UNFAIRLY CRITIQUED AND THEN UNJUSTLY BANNED FOR TWENTY FOUR HOURS WITH NO EXPLANATION!?!?!?
  4. Because... They play.... Worse teams... On average...
  5. Manager of baseball research Coordinator of baseball research & development I guess they report to Sanjay Choudhury

  7. Well there was every reason to believe Baltimore should have broke the bank this past offseason, and they did not. So we have early evidence that they are still going to pinch pennies.
  8. Chapman, sigh. Not hopeful here.
  9. don't care unless it's a homer
  10. the board has always been like this i think you are just getting old and more indignant
  11. his name is nathan pearson
  12. yeah they always want him to throw 1.1 innings. i don't really get it. he's not that type of guy...
  13. those gameday strikezones are designed to be nice to umps if it is within the main strikezone, it's basically in the heart of the plate
  14. on video it wasn't a good pitch way too much plate. jansen wanted it 12 inches higher.
  15. dude just needs to miss the zone more often, on purpose maybe
  16. Garcia has the best stuff of his career (I assume) and is giving up a lot of runs. It's a real test of mental fortitude and stat smarts. He should probably just change nothing, continue to throw it like this, and the results will likely be much better going forward. Right!?
  17. I'm just happy there was a big trade in the DDL. Woo.
  18. Wet Hot Danny Jansen Summer has begun
  19. Varsho has some real juice in the bat. Hopefully he goes on a HR streak at some point this summer.
  20. Yeah it would have been insane to cut Cimber. I guess it's just a minor roster mismanagement issue. Toronto had no choice but to cut Merryweather. It's just too bad they were in that situation where the bullpen was full of mostly dudes with mid-reliever upside.
  21. I dunno. With the volatility of relievers it's questionable to cut a guy like Merryweather and keep guys like Cimber. Valid to criticize Toronto on this one. Why let a guy with extreme "stuff" walk and keep certain others who are at best middle relievers?
  22. Fair enough, but Toronto has at least been better than Baltimore Since 2000 Toronto has two 5th place finishes and two separate competitive windows (2014 to 2016 and 2020 to present). Baltimore has 8 5th place finishes and one competitive window (2012 to 2016). Toronto's version of bad is extended mediocrity. Baltimore's version of bad is hopelessness. Not quite the same.
  23. Yeah I think it's approach based. Which is why I would not be too concerned quite yet. He's probably physically capable of being a 15 HR hitter it just means his slashline might look more like.... I dunno... .253/.313 /.426? that is Travis d'Arnaud's career line.
  24. Are people saying that praising Baltimore is "not ok"? I don't think so. The full and fair representation of the position would be something like this: Yes, Baltimore has a nice young core breaking into the big leagues right now and an excellent looking farm. Yes, their developmental system seems to be doing very well. However, they have a long track record of being a dogshit organization so maybe we should hold off on the Orioles fellatio for juuuuuust a little bit longer because it's very much within the realm of possibility that they will f*** it up. Prospects will break your heart. A few high profile busts and some failure to spend money properly and they might end up as the same sorry Orioles we know and love in a a couple of years.
  25. Moreno's profile is mildly concerning right now. He has a 6% walk rate, 20.5% K rate, and a 0.085 ISO. In 2022 there were exactly zero qualified hitters with ratios like that, and an above average wRC+. Some comparables with walk, K, and power rates sort of like this might be Ke'Bryan Hayes, Nick Solak, Raimel Tapia. But even these three limp dick bats have more demonstrated game power than Moreno has done so far. But it's only MILDLY concerning because he's so young and his minor league track record implies that more pop is on the way.
