    I'm really at a loss with this team: - Give Goins the 2B job because defense is important, but consider moving Lawrie to 2B to make room for Francisco at 3B - Take starts away from Dickey, MB and Hutch so that Happ can pitch - Go to Jenkins with bases loaded up by 2 because it's too early for Delabar, Loup; but use them the same game down by 4 - Sierra...well, anything related to Sierra - Batting Getz second...getting two hits last night will probably buy him a reserved spot in the 2 hole until Melky comes back I am despaired.

    It was a good approach on their part. The slider is pretty much unhittable; might as well take pitches until he can prove he can throw strikes.

    Who said he's DHing? I assume all the "DH" references as they pertain to Gose being recalled were for Double Header.

    Nothing wrong with thinking it, but it doesn't accomplish much to say it to the media. I think Happ should stick with discussing his role internally and limit himself to canned do-whatever-they-ask-of-me type responses to the public.

    Did Lind stop doing his 15 minutes of stretching every day? The Injury Gods are toying with us so far; a lot of not-too-serious injuries so far.

    Enhanced Dickey effect when batters face him and the next guy on the same day?

    Great stolen base last night. Ken Huckaby's inside-the-park was a good moment too, especially the last 90 feet. He said that third to home felt like he was running in water.

    I just hope Hutch's next start is a good one. I'm half worried that if he has another dubious outing that he'll be sent down in favour of Happ.

    Sad to hear. Only had a few back-and-forths with him on the old board a while back; always carried himself well.

    Plus, he'll get to wear a nice Jays jersey for a change. Can't wait to see that.

    I only saw the first few innings, but it seemed like Morrow was just missing on his fastball command. There were a few called balls that I wouldn't have been a shocked to see called strikes. The bigger problem I think is the two-headed Rogers/Jeffress monster.

    All this bending for Lind, hopefully his back doesn't go out on him.

    I think it's pretty safe to say that the playoffs will be easy to make.

    I like that they haven't just given Goins a Thames-esque lock on a roster spot; assuming this isn't just random AA babble.

    I don't know why, but stashing Diaz and Goins and their theoretical plus defense at the bottom of the lineup with a top 7 like last night I'm okay with. When Thole is in there, I feel awful about it. In summary, I don't think I like Thole very much.

    I can understand them not being cautious with Reyes. It's not like they have a near recent experience to draw upon of what it's like for Reyes to go down and have no middle infield depth. You'd have to be a witch to have seen this coming.

    It's not even matter of competence. I have zero formal education in physical training but know that playing Reyes in Montreal when he already had a suspect hamstring was a bad idea. You would almost have to try really, really hard to makes decisions this stupid.

    I don't know if I would classify it as "chemistry", but I think they will benefit from improved familiarity, especially defensively up the middle. All that hinges on health of course.

    I'm glad Sanchez finished things so effectively, but now I'm partly worried that AA is thinking about how he should make Sanchez a closer.

    We should at least let McGowan have one start before ECJF re-curses him.
