  1. Can't see the HR derby lasting much longer. Seems like nobody wants to participate, and it's pretty boring to boot, other than one someone goes on a real tear. Reminds me of the NBA dunk contest.
  2. I think you have to fire The Beest. I just don't think he understands the current game anymore (if he understood it at all) and is still resting off the laurels of the 92/93 teams. The only logical course of action for this organization is to have the Assistant to the Travelling Secretary drag those trophies through the parking lot and demand, with a megaphone, that The Beest gets fired.
  3. Now the Jays will probably score two runs in the 9th and come up a run short.
  4. The biggest culprit in my opinion is the lack of moves in the offseason, especially at 2B and Lind platoon partner. AA gambled in the offseason and lost; he thought he could hope for the best case scenario out of 2B, without considering that other areas, like the bullpen, might get worse, IMO. To be honest, at this point, I'd almost rather face Shark than a Brad Mills type guy, because at least in brings Lind and Rasmus back into play offensively.
  5. If their "database" is as cutting edge as they claim, but with poor security, it could be just about anyone in their organization who is on their network. Not sure where the excerpts in the Deadspin link are coming from. They read almost like they could have been compiled in Notepad.
  6. 1987, Juan Beniquez hits a bases clearing triple in the 9th to beat the Tigers 9-8. I was in the bleachers with some loud mouth Tigers fans. They obviously got the last laugh that season, but I can't remember ever being that excited at a baseball game, before or since.
  7. Bautista Booster Juice Bobblehead Day? COULD YOU IMAGINE?
  8. Pfft. Dickey eats innings like my son eats an ice cream cone. It starts off fine, but then he loses focus and suddenly it's dripping from three different spots and when he tries to adjust, he dumps the whole thing on the floor and creates a huge mess.
  9. Probably a bat. It also wouldn't hurt if one of McGowan, Santos or Delabar stopped being terrible.
  10. Gibbons is the least of our problems. The lack of depth is the real killer here.
  11. Yes, but Costa Rica won, so it's a wash, right?
  12. No wonder Cuba's economy is in shambles.
  13. To me, this is Gibbons' only major flaw as a manager; new bullpen guys, usually the lowest on the depth chart, get thrust into high leverage situations. Same thing with Korecky a while back.
  14. Uh oh. I'm guessing the next couple of pages are going to be rage nerd posts.
  15. I'll admit, it worries me a bit that he hadn't realized he had drawn a walk. Hopefully he's okay in a medical sense, not just a Blue Jays sense.
  16. Pete Kozma DFA'd by Cards. Should we see if he can be Seitzer-ized? The downside is that he's obviously not a True Cardinal, so not sure he's worth the risk. http://t.co/DmviYZMylU
  17. What this thread tells me is that I need to learn more about Pompey.
  18. Kawasaki is going to come up big today. A dubious decision for sure, but I think it will pay off.
