Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Two more years of team control, this was his first arb year. High percentile GB and whiff rates, this is a pretty big pickup. Plus if he works out over the next couple years, he'll still be young enough to lock up long term (27 now, FA at 29) Orgfiller 1

Laika Community Moderator Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Initial reaction - dislike But now that Nimmala is an Angel all of his flaws are obvious. They were always trading him. Can't hit spin etc. Brownie19 and Orgfiller 2

glory Old-Timey Member Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Gut reaction is disappointed at seeing Nimmala traded. The Jays don’t develop prospects this young and this good very often. Maybe he’s flawed and this will be seen as selling high in hindsight but the Jays aren’t exactly littered with high upside prospects so trading one even for a controllable need seems a bit excessive given the team is 2 months away from finishing in last place in their division. Laika Community Moderator Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Adding the other two prospects seems.... gratuitous

Yeah, I guess.
VladdyAlomar Verified Member Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Lol what a pathetic team we just got rid of future short stop superstar. Clown team 🤡
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I haven't read any Angels fans reactions to this, but they can't be thrilled. They've struggled so badly to put a quality roster together for quite some time - trading a quality 27 year old cost controlled SP for prospects won't get them any closer next year.

They are ecstatic to be "actually selling" and they think Nimmala alone is a good get

I felt Nimmala was being underrated by the scouting community but, hey, no point worrying about that now. Pendleton 1

Org managers he's played for loved him for his attitude and ability to get more results than his tools suggest he should.
