RA Whiffleball Verified Member Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Miles an intriguing acquisition from the rule 5 draft. I like the stuff. Could be a better version than the great Joe Biagini. Good job Ross (Eat My Shatkins is going to cream his pants).

You gotta look around in baseball... backup catchers has always been a tough position to fill with good talent. Heiniman is more than good enough even though he messed up a few games for us this year.

I was responding to a post on why Valenzuela should be kept on the team over Heiny because he throws better and frames better. They both can’t hit. Valenzuela going to Buffalo for 3 months isn’t going to make him a better hitter, He would be best on the current team making balls look like strikes and fooling the hitter and the umpire.

R.O. Verified Member Posted April 29 Posted April 29 That is what BV does. Good defensive backup catcher, who is a switch hitter that has power.

He is going to get reps in AAA. With the big club he will ride the bench behind Kirk. What's the point of that.

I still think a catcher that know all the staff and does a fine job is more valuable than some stiff on our 40 that I don't care to check. He's just depth. Omar 1

glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Keep your head above water until healthy bodies return. Starting 14-16 is not great but given all the injuries that's not a terrible spot to be in, especially given how mediocre the AL looks this season (so far). jaysblue 1

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 29 Posted April 29 All things considered. Missing this many regulars and half of our rotation for most of April only being 2 games under .500 isn't terrible. It looked for awhile like the losing was going to snowball on them like it has for the Phillies and Red Sox for example. But they are staying the course for the most part and their is a s*** load of talent that could be added to this team next month. Stangstag, G-Snarls and hanton 3
