Really good showing by the boys. Some of these young guys could make a big impact in 3 years.

We basically got this far with broken parts and only Lopez/Toro/Caissie hitting (and Bo).

Need to have more guys show up for Canada come 2029

I don’t think I’ll ever get past the fact that they didn’t use a bona fide MLB starter who hadn’t pitched in 4 days but used a 38-year old who’s been retired for 7 years

Had a chance to win it.  Cant complain with the result based on the mismatch of their rosters.  Hopefully the DR slaps the US.

They were worried most of the game lol. 1 swing away from tying it at several points

I knew it would be a close game

what a dick punch that game was

gave it away with the toro error and utter incompetence with RISP

the DR better wax these losers

You give us a ton of very detailed, analytical posts. Some of the very best from anyone in this board.

But I love this raw emotion post too.  I'm with you!!!

All things considered Canada hung in and had a chance to do a lot better and that's all you can really ask for. Hopefully more pitching commits for 2029. Feel like this team could get to a final four if its gets its full compliment.

Using Aumont over Taillon

I don't understand why Whitt took Paxton out at 49 pitches the other day if he wasn't going to use him today. Like there was no tomorrow if you lost.

It was a much closer game than I anticipated. I was worried it might be 7-0 or something similar

Multiple chances but Naylor with second and third nobody out popping up is the one that stings the most. Gotta at least just hit the ball on the ground and score one. When you’re the underdog you have to do those things to win

Mixed emotions. Happy it was a game. Happy most of the players showed up.

Disappointed in Naylor and O'Neill but it is literally spring training so can't be mad. Mad at Whitt for using Aumont who is one of their worst RP, probably. Mad the game plan did not involve Taillon and Paxton but they could justify that by saying they were playing to try and win the tournament not just this game.

Disappointed that the glaring roster weakness (missing Brash, Cade Smith) was what did them in.

Holding USA to 5 runs means there is a chance of Olympic qualification if Venezuela and Puerto Rico lose and give up a good amount of runs in the process. It's possible.

The Olympic qualification aspect is another reason why the Taillon decision was so stupid. I’m not convinced Whitt was even aware of how important it was to limit USA to as few runs as possible, even in a loss. Baseball canada just feels very unserious
