No.

As per fangraphs Jays sit at $308 million ELTP

Dodgers currently at $339 million

Are we not expecting the Dodgers to add more salary?

I think they are in the same market as the Jays for Bo and Tucker .If the Jays sign both, they can't. I guess they could pivot to Bregman, although I don't see the fit.

Ross Atkins has signed the top FA starter, the top setup man, the best hitter in Japan the past few years, and the best starter in the Korean league last year.

Brian Cashman brought back a side armer who throws 80 mph lmao

I'm really enjoying this Sheriff.

The jays don't have the right pieces for a Marte deal.

I still think its more likely that the Jays sign more free agents than trade for Marte.

Why trade when they're already over the tax threshold?

The team looks great!  If we are going to nitpick (yes I will obviously), still need a top 4 bat (hopefully Bo/Tucker) and a true closer.

The closer part seems like a trade deadline thing but we definitely gotta get the top 4 bat via free agency.  Come on Atkins, complete the dream Jays offseason!

We just don't have a natural sort of #2 hitter so someone moves up there and it won't be Vladdy cause he kikes hitting 3rd.

Either Bo or Kyle 😃

Bo won't be back, and Tucker just wait Dodgers offering him better contract offers. Bregman will be a great signing, but we will need to trade Santander, so Okamoto will play LF. A packages Santander + Berrios + retain $$$ can attract teams like the Pirates, Reds.

I can see Oka filling the #2 spot in the batting order, ala Lukes last season.

I dont because that'll mean we'll have all our lefties stacked up at the bottom of the lineup.  If we get Tucker, I expect him to be there or else it'll be Barger.

You think the team tries to DFA Straw thinking no one will take him and we can add him back to the 40 man at a later time like YRod?

I think other teams would be stupid to not claim him when he provides elite defense and has just 1 year left on the deal.

Crazy f***ing off-season for Toronto and it's still not done

What a time

Reminds me of the Glory days.

I feel like this move takes us out of the Tucker market and hopefully means Bo resigning. I have to imagine Okamoto is penciled in as the 3rd baseman, with a backup plan of LF if he struggles defensively. Barger likely moves to RF. I can't see them trading either Barger or Santander, so unless Barger can play 2nd (maybe?) I can't see them adding another outfielder. I would think it also means one of Lukes or Straw will probably be traded (probably Lukes since he's a lefty), along with Berrios and Rodriguez.  I feel a little bad for Loperfido in all of this, who is actually kind of intriguing but has no realistic shot of being in the majors this year.

I'm thinking we'll end up looking something like this:

DH - Springer
C- Kirk
1B - Vladdy
2B - Bo
SS - Gimenez
3B - Okamoto
CF - Varsho
LF - Santander
RF - Barger

Bench - Heineman, Schneider, Straw, Clement

SP - Gausman
SP - Cease
SP - Bieber
SP - Yesavage
SP - Ponce

RP - Hoffman
RP - Rogers
RP - Varland
RP - Little
RP - Lauer
RP - Nance
RP - Fluharty
RP - Garcia

Minors but ready: Fisher, Lee

I have lost track of the payroll. I am sure one of the payroll gurus on the board has crunched the numbers.

The problem is that the numbers they are throwing around for Tucker and Bo are all over the place. So there is a lot of assumptions and different scenarios depending the contract details involved.

I dont' think either Tucker or Bo are getting the contracts they originally wanted. Look at Imai and Okamato signing just before their respective deadlines.

You're pulling that straight out of your ass, lol. tHeGuRu

This team is friggin' stacked

I bet we see a trade or two. Lots of cheap teams out there who could use Taters (eat some $$$), Berrios (eat some $$$), Lukes, Schneider, etc.

Giminez is the boat anchor. He's a 15 mil luxury tax hit with 23 mil actual salary his last 3 years.  If we didn't have his contract on the books we could still go after bichette.  I think Okamota is good value at 15 mil, but that pretty much takes us out of the running for Bichette.  I expect us to move Berrios to free up salary.  Taters at 14 mil isn't even that expensive.  We might trade him and eat some salary.  If I could give away Berrios, taters and Giminez and sign Bo and Tucker I would, but that's wishful thinking..lol

I'm in this boat as well following this signing.

I don't love "selling low" on Santander and I do think he can rebound.  His power and low K's fit the mould, but we're so stacked now that the my may just cut bait.

I just can’t see it 1 year removed from signing him to a 5 year deal. Unless they’ve changed their mind about keeping Springer around. But in my eyes, the fit for 2026 is a bit iffy but 2027 and beyond Santander is primary DH.

Springer is also a year older and has a history of injuries, he might be a non-factor next year

Giminez is league average with the bat against RHP, quite below average against LHP.

With this roster I see a SS platoon

That'd be interesting, that's a sound idea!

Legit.
