If they see him as a LF, then I feel like Bo is a more realistic signing now than Tucker (assuming the Jays land one of them). Although Bo at 2B, Barger at 3B, Tony in RF, and Okamoto in LF doesn't scream great defense.

It's not ideal but I would imagine they will try balance it out because they like giving Vlad DH at-bats. So he can play 1B when Vlad DH's. Which would mean Springer would either be rested or go into the OF which him playing 40-60 games in the OF shouldn't be out of the question and its only for one more year where DH would open up more to be revolving position.

To get him into the Lineup everyday it would make sense if he plays LF. Unless they are going to use Springer there and DH Okamoto more. It will be interesting to see how they decide to do it.

Playoff Vlad already had that figured out.

Yes Playoff Vlad was elite. Now can he do it over a full Season that could be fun.

You are forgetting about our prized free agent from last season who should bounceback.  DH is practically reserved for Springer/Santandar unless there are injuries.

I think this move log jams Santander at-bats even more. And I don't think the Jays are done. They will have to make a move. Not saying it will be Santander but it could be Santander.

Had the same thought. They feel like they’re cut from the same cloth, except Okamoto can play 1B/3B but both best fits are probably just LF

Not gonna be shocked to see Santa moved and cash eaten and one more bat brought in. They still have the flexibility to add at any position

I’m always glad when the Jays use their financial muscle and sign top end free agents, but I still want one of Bo/Tucker. I hope this doesn’t lock them out of that market.

Curious what the terms are here.  I gotta be thinking we did this because the deal was too good to pass up.

Is there any closer on the trade market that we could trade our plethora of MLB ready bats for?

Astros are trying to cut costs and they have a pricy closer...

Isn’t this the guy that can’t hit fastballs? Or was that the other Japanese guy?

Other guy

Yeah I kinda get the same sense. If they add another bat, then I think dumping Santander while eating some cash is probably a likely scenario. Otherwise the roster will be a little too disjointed, and Santander stands out like a sore thumb on this roster given the type of players the Jays usually target (he's a one trick pony with little to no defensive value or versatility, and DH is occupied by a better player). They probably just cut their losses if it improves the roster.

This the guy that loves fastballs and eats them for lunch. Has had no issues with velocity but he will see a lot more of it in MLB.

Guess I was thinking of Muramaki

Now that the Asian boys are all finished we should start seeing some action pick up

This is RIP for Bo, I think ultimately that’s fine, Giminez at SS and Clement at 2B is infinitely sexier defensively than any combo of Bo/Gimi at SS/2B. But we get Tucker I guess that means Barger to LF rather than 3B as it stands now. Definitely big trade coming, hopefully a bat for a CP and then sign Tucker.

anyway on a scale of 1-10 how horny should I be about Okamoto?
