Well Bo is officially a Met

Doesn't make sense.

Mets have Lindor at shortstop and Semien at second base. Where would Bo play? Third?

Bichettes defense might play well at first🤷🏻‍♂️

These AAVs are insane. Teams are just completely forgoing the back end of the bad contracts and throwing out silly values for the short term. Bo basically made half of what he was projected to get over 8 years in a 3 year deal.

Morosi just said Mets expect him to play 3B

uh….they do know about his 36th percentile arm strength…right?

Too bad

Seems like the Mets made a panic move.

Likely takes them out of the competition for Bellinger and Suarez now.

Bichette at third base is going to be an absolute adventure. Lindor gonna hate his life having to cover for that.

Why am I suddenly terrified that Boss Atkins and his best friend Scott Boras might be working on something now? I want no part of Bellinger on the type of contract that he wants.

Always the bridesmaid, never the bride......

After reflecting on this strategy (short contract high AAV). I concur that it is a smart way to go.

You don't have the player taking up roster space or arguments about playing time or pressure to play your X million dollar man when they suck.

You pay the same as 8-10 yrs but don't have the bad years, long term obligations.

Highly unlikely the Yankees would let the Jays snake Bellinger, assuming they really want him.

They literally signed the top FA starting pitcher, the KBO MVP and arguably the top NPB bat available lol. Even Rogers can't afford to carelessly spend money like this.

This is probably a good thing, if we drive the price on Bellinger way up and the Yankees end up on an awful deal.

Good for Bo

But considering hes not a power bat, avg defense and his up and downs over the years I think its good we didnt sign him to such a contract.

I know reports are saying Ketel Marte is off the block, but if Atkins can somehow pull it off, it’ll be an all time great offseason. Prefer Marte to both Tucker and Bichette

K have fun in New York, Bo. 😂 Man will be getting booed by May playing at third.

Atkins will pivot to Bellinger, who I don’t like at all and think is massively over rated. I really hope he turns to the trade market instead. Steve Kwan or bust.

That's hilarious.

Given Buxton’s age and injury history, I don’t think the Twins could realistically demand a massive return.

Could we swing Varsho to them lock up center field until 2029? I know Varsho has massive power and the defense is sweet, but him not able to hit high velocity bit us in the World Series.

his cap hit is just over 14 million a year, and in a good year, he could be a 30/20.

cons, 32, glass and turf don’t mesh,

just saw the Bo news

Between Tucker and Bo anything good the Blue Jays had go in the soft season has now been crushed

Hey Vladdy  we just lost your best friend and we have no one to hit behind you so you’re gonna suffer statistically as well.  Although the money each one of those guys got is ridiculous.

And before I get crapped on, what have wereally done other than upgrade or pitching, and that’s if Ponce actually is the real thing and we have to remember that Bassett actually had a decent season, especially at home. We are hoping that Cease will at least hit those numbers and Bieber is healthy

Okamoto as a bench piece I was OK with as I won’t believe it until I see it.  We really need him to work out, Barger to take the next step, and Santander to rebound.

I guess I just have to hold out hope. Hopefully there’s another move in us.

It’s just s***** that the team we were chasing that’s the best free agent on the market as well as the best closer on the market and we lose probably our best hitter to the scumbag mats. I just can’t see Bo liking it there but we have just learned that money definitely does talk

Also, I bet the Bo/Phillies rumours even pressured the Mets more to make this move. They probably figured sign Bo and keep him away from the Phillies, regardless of which position Bo plays for them.

Disgusted even more than yesterday

Yeah, yesterday was downright funny with the Dodgers coming out of nowhere to get him on ridiculous terms.

This one actually hurts. Back when Vlad and Bo were teenage prospects I dreamed of them winning us a World Series and they got damn close.

Thanks for everything Bo. 🫡

That home run off Ohtani should be considered one of the greatest HR's in franchise history, but most Jays fans will probably refuse to even watch highlights of that game for a long time. Bichette definitely lived up to the prospect hype. The Vlad/Bo era had 4 playoff appearances, one 90+ win missed playoff season, and ended literally one inch away from a title. Went by so fast too.
