Seems like it'll be us as Philly for Bo so if we really want him then just show him the money. Dont think Philly is the type of team who would offer an insane deal like the Mets/Dodgers would. Yeah this happened after the Soto deal. People thought it would raise the roof on FAs but he was the only one. Bo ain’t gonna be cheap but I think we can get him back. Jays and Mets should learn from their mistakes. The second their offers are leaked, they should ASAP remove them, coz they are used by agents to make Dodgers give more cash.
Nexii Verified Member Posted January 16 Posted January 16 What do people think Bo is going to get now? I'm thinking Jays give him 8/250 Not sure why, that's probably an overpay too Stangstag 1

It may not seem like it but the more other teams have to pay free agents, the less they should have to spend elsewhere. Dodgers are just the anti-christ so this doesnt apply to them i guess lol abola2121 and DonJays 2

Bellinger will probably get 5/175 or 6/210 from Jays or Mets

Kyle tucker isn't that good. He's had a lot of injuries too. Coming off his injuries he put a .738 OPS second half. His sprint speed was 26;5. His max exit velo was 108.7. Physically he's pretty underwhelming. Guys like that can fall off fast. He has fantastic plate discipline and really good contact rates. I think he'll avg around an .820 OPS over the next 4 years. I've been very luke warm on him all off season. He has avg D. I'm glad we avoided a 10 year deal on him. JaysFan99, Bob_Gratton and HomeRunHomer 3

Strangely was the same about Diaz, but no with other top free agents. So far we don't know what teams offered to Bichette, Bellinger , Schwarber, Bregman. All we read, was names of teams interested to sign these guys.

You trade for Donovan and daily use Barger RF, you get better offensive than Tucker. Otherwise Barger will split time with Okamoto at 3B
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted January 16 Posted January 16 We need to sign Bo before the Mets steal Bellinger from the Yankees and they get pissed by going after Bo lol.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I'm not even mad about not getting him. That contract is completely insane. Sign Bo, and we've probably improved on par with the Dodgers anyway. Dodgers: Diaz + Tucker Jays: Cease, Ponce, Rogers, Okamoto Jays24 and abola2121 2
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted January 16 Posted January 16 looking at what he got from the dodgers and the Mets offer, I think the jays were firmly in third place

I think Popkin can fix Robert Jr, and he can bounce back with the Jays. Oh when he’s playing he’s definitely a great player. Unfortunately the guy can’t stay healthy. I own him in my fantasy league, if I get more than 80 games out of him I’m pleasantly surprised. Hes gone 3 straight years with 100 games now so bonus. Absolutely no one in my league will trade for him lol. Guy is just always out extended periods.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Dodgers have to pay 110% luxury tax this year so it’s basically $120m this year for Tucker and if the CBA doesn’t change in 2027 it’s $184. Stangstag and Spanky__99 2
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 16 Posted January 16 This just makes me even more angry that we let the Dodgers steal the WS from us when it was RIGHT. THERE. Hopefully they get bounced in the DS this year and we don’t need to hear any more “threepeat” nonsense Jays24, Terminator and JaysFan99 2 1

That is just incredibly stupid Mlbs gotta do something about improving the competitive balance of the sports. Not sure what the solution is but theyll need to figure it out

I don’t even care that the Dodgers got Tucker, my mind immediately went back to Jeff Hoffman and Miguel f’n Rojas. A part of me wants a Jays/Dodgers WS rematch in 2026, and having it resemble the 2014 NBA Finals with the Jays playing the role of the Spurs who lost a winnable title to the Heat the year before (losing to a Ray Allen Hail Mary is less embarrassing though). However, the Dodgers getting bounced in the first round might be better. Stangstag 1
