Funky Verified Member Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 Just get Bo done as a starting point. He will bat in front or behind Vlad and extend the line-up. He will bring our payroll to approx $250 million. That is 50 ish away from the top tax bracket. Santander hitting behind Bo protects Bo and Santander should bounce back. if Barger takes that next step, still young enough, and can bat 2nd or split with Lucas batting second we have a solid top 5 in the bottom 4 we still have Varzho, Clement, Kirk and Gimenez. That is a solid top nine until at least the trade deadline or injuries. Save some money for now and find a good player at the trade deadline out of fraction of their taxable contract pitching lines are absolutely the same way with Gausman, Bieber and Yesavage a solid top three. Berrios as of four still puts us in great shape. However, you pick up one of the better top end pitchers in the free agent work for around 25 a year and move half of the rotation down one notch, and it will be one of the better rotations in the league.. it also allows Lauer to be a long man and if injuries hit he or one of the young pups, including Tiedemann, Francis or Bloss can get a couple of stars to see what they have. For now, one higher and reliever really set her pen up nice for the trade deadline. My hope is for Williams. He still has his stuff just had a rough year. Re-signing Bo, grabbing now top end, free agent starter and a top 10 for agent reliever still leaves us 10 million under the top tax bracket which at the trade deadline allows us to bring at least one or two really good players if needed. it also doesn’t upset the core of our championship team from last year. Michael King and Brendan Woodruff also intrigued me. Any chance they could be had cheaper because of the injuries? max silver, Stangstag, Omar and 1 other 4

DH - Springer (R) RF - Tucker (L) 1B - Vladdy (R) 2B - Bo (R) LF - Santander (S) C - Kirk (R) 3B - Barger (L) CF - Varsho (L) SS - Giminez (L) Bench - Heineman, Lukes, Clement, Schneider That offense would be unreal good. OF defense takes a hit but the bench would help. Bottom of the lineup would also be neutralized rather easily from the 6th inning onwards.

You would likely have a bench of Clement, Schneider and Straw who can all pinch hit for the lefties. I think if you can’t get Tucker you need to set the team up so that Schneider is getting more playing time against RHP. The only player on the team who hit righties better than Schneider last year was Springer.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 New strategy Sell high on Clement + lottery ticket(s) for Alcantara ($11.2M AAV through 2027) Sign Bo to play 2B (8/240, $30M AAV)) Sign Helsley (4/70, $17.5M AAV) Springer DH Barger 3B Vlad 1B Bo 2B Kirk C Varsho CF Santander RF Lukes / Schneider LF Gimenez SS Gausman Alcantara Yesavage Bieber Berrios Helsley Hoffman Yimi Varland Fisher ???

Stack the bullpen so they ain't scoring after 6.The World Series will be easy to make. I'm guessing we're on Marte's 5 team no trade clause. Us the Yanks and 3 others..lol. I think I'd rather trade for Buxton if he's available than sign Tucker. The Dodgers have already reached out on Buxton. I'd hate to think of him going there.

This. No way im trading Clement. Hes also pretty much a gold glove calibre infielder at 3B SS and 2B. As others have stated on here id prioritize spending on pitching and bringing back Bo if he's willing to play 2B. Woodruff and Cease are intriguing options to me We should also expect some regression offensively especially from Springer who had a historically great season but he's 36. Unlikely he'll repeat that. If we bring Bo back id be happy to roll back out with the same starting line up to start.

His bat is below average and projected to continue to be. He BABIP'ed his way to great postseason numbers. Alcantara >>> Clement.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 I feel like they'll trade for a starting pitcher and sign a FA hitter + closer.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 I wouldn't mind seeing the Jays build a trade around Berrios for Alcantara. Jays could eat some money and add in prospects. Still go out and try to add Cease or Imai as well. 1. Gausman 2. Bieber 3. Yesavage 4. Cease / Imai 5. Alcantara Has potential to be the best rotation the Jays have ever had. Stangstag 1

But even as a "dump" Berrios is still a useful mid to back of rotation starter who can chew up the innings Alcantara would have, and he's still projected for 1.6 fWAR. (Alcantara projected 2.5 fWAR) Jays would giving up the prospect capital to gain the upside a guy like Alcantara has if he regains his pre TJS form.
