Sounds like the Jays will be around 300M if we get everything we need this offseason.  That would be crazy considering the times the Jays players had to try to pool money to sign Santana.

It won't be at 300M for long after next season. Might as well make a big splash in the FA market now if it means guaranteeing a return to the world series.

You can't guarantee a return to the world series.

My main target would be resigning Bo or going after Bregman. Wouldn't surprise me if Springer plays a roll in pursuing Bregman.

If $400M is being thrown around for Kyle Tucker, would pass. Think Bellinger would be a better option at a fraction of the cost and could also play CF.

Would consider signing Varsho to an extension, depending on his health. Think you can lock him up for the next 4-5 years at a reasonable, below market value contract. Kind of like what the Jays did with Kirk.

If the Jays struck out on both Bo and Bregman, I think Kim wouldn't be that bad of an option. If he's healthy, should be good for around 3 WAR, 15 HR's, and probably 30 steals.

I'm pretty lukewarm on Bellinger as his home/away splits are pretty drastic. I think his 2024 season will be really hard for him to recreate as it relied on an extreme reverse splits of 180 wRC+ vs LHP/105 wRC+ vs RHP. Tucker would be an amazing add but I also have a hard time justifying $400 million for a 5 win player.

I also like the idea of a Varsho extension, but some online sites list him as a Boras client which would all but eliminate the idea of a team friendly extension if true.

Bregman is an interesting suggestion but the Blue Jays can receive 80-90% of the value he provides for a fraction of the cost by simply platooning Barger and Clement so it might not be the best use of available funds. Kim is a tricky one as his arm strength was down significantly after shoulder surgery and it remains a bit of an unknown how much of it will eventually return.

Starting to come around on Murakami. He’s got 80 grade power and he’s young. Let’s stack the team and sign both him and Bo.

Barger in RF and Clement becomes the top bench option who can spell Murakami and Gimenez against lefties.

Then sign a starter and a reliever and the World Series will be easy to make.

Spotrac lists ISE Sports as his agent

This is anticipating that both Gausman and Bieber stay healthy and that Yesavage continues his breakout. If one of Gaus or Bieber land on the IL for an extended period of time or if Yesavage struggles out of the gate, Jays could be in trouble.

Need to get through the grind of 162 games first before the Postseason. Adding another SP2 wouldn't hurt to be honest.

This is my train of thought also. Adding a 4/5 is easy, they fall off trees in the offseason and at the deadline. Add at the top, push other down and have guys at AAA to fill in the short-term injury gaps.

The Jays are really close to having that type of situation as a reality. Not quite yet though

The problem with Bichette is he doesn't profile to age well later into his contract. His sprint speed has already fallen off dramatically even before his recent knee/calf injuries and he doesn't take alot of walks. I worry signing him to a long term deal could prove to be an albatross down the road. That being said he is such a pure hitter, I think he will likely command at least $200M/8 years. Could see a team like the Mets or SF go stupid and give him like a $300M/10 year deal.

I’d love to be getting Kyle Tucker. It makes for a bit of a cramped OF next season but there isn’t much there beyond 2026. The team intends to move Barger between RF and 3B again so they could potentially work in someone like Tucker while still giving Clement, Barger, Giménez, Santander and Springer a good amount.of playing time. This also goes for Bellinger but I have more concerns with him.

I do think that Bichette will end up in Toronto again.

I am unsure on Murakami with the holes against velocity and all secondary pitches but I am intrigued by Okamoto and Sung-Moon Song.

Ponce has some intrigue as a back end of the rotation option as does Anderson but I think Anderson may be more inclined to stay in Asia with his wife.

I do think the team needs to be in on Cease or another front of the rotation arm via trade.

I think Bo is the type of guy to give up 10m just to not have to go meet 60 players and coaches and management at a new org.  That would really suck having to do that.  People are f***ed.

barring someone offering him an a-rod type contract he is staying

All long term deals turn into albatross deals down the road. Every single one. You know that going in. Yiu sign them to extra years to keep the AAV down earlier on

I wish I could fast forward life until free agents sign. But realistically we aren't hearing anything until around this time in December.

Bo, Imai, Ponce for me and i'd be really happy. That's too many starters but we'd make it work.

If we could trade for a clear number one starter, that would be even more ideal.

I know right!? The Bieber acceptance was so early and got me pumped but now it’s all waiting game lol

All day long yes please

Why are you guys so enamored with Hesley?  The whole league seems to know he tips his pitches?  What is the case for him as a Jay?

Get him to quit tipping his pitches.

He has 104 saves the last 4 seasons and hits triple digits. I like triple digits.

...and fix his walk rate then also there is his control issues. Pete Walker would be a busy man.

Seriously though, Jays aren't adding two more SP, re-sign BO, sign Ranger, and get a high leverage arm. Dump Straw for a lottery ticket. That should get us into the revenue of 275M to 280M they need to stay under that next tax threshold of 284M... save at minimum 4 million for the trade deadline. Right or no?

We all seem to agree that the clubhouse culture was amazing and had at least something to do with their success this year.  From all reports, Kilometres Straw was a massive part of that culture and was a real leader in the clubhouse.  I think he is a guy they keep around.

From the pov of minor upgrades and how much we platoon, and how much we pinch hit. Refsnyder still absolutely mashes lefties at 34. He would be a decent cheap add.

Some things just aren’t quantifiable as Shapiro said in the end of season press conference. Looking forward to what the front office has in store for fans this offseason.
