[ALDS GM3] : Yankees (Rodon) vs Blue Jays (Bieber): 10/06/25, 8:10pm

This is a fascinating start from Bieber today.

Former ace coming back from TJ pitching in a big game. His next contract could be heavily impacted by this game as well.

The Yankees will probably stack the lineup with lefties but he's dominated them this year on the strength of his new change up.

With the offday and the Yanks being at home, they will be as prepared as they possibly could be.

Bieber has given up some loud contact this year so it will be important to keep the ball in the yard. I wouldn't mind a quick hook for him, but with tomorrow being a bullpen game will we try to push for an extra inning?

I want them to make it to the World Series at this point.  It feels like they can and that this is their best chance in a decade.

The Dodgers, Brewers and Phiiles are really good won't be too upset if they lose to either once they get there

Agreed.

If we beat the Yanks this will be a season we can look back on fondly.

But the Mariners and Tigers are beatable and we will have home field advantage.

Gotta get it done and get to the WS.

Quick hook if we are winning, sure. But it also depends what they plan to do for game 4. Im kinda thinking they might be planning a Yariel/Laeur piggyback, once each through the order.

I am excited to see Greg Bird Ben Rice whiff at 10 straight changeups again.

Rodon had alot of trouble putting away Jays batters last time, over 100 pitches just to get through 5 innings, including a marathon battle with Schneider

Yes and part of the Jays strategy will be to get to the Yankees bullpen as early as possible

I'd rather just lose to the Yankees.

They are the biggest roadblock in the American League in my mind, to manage to get by them and then to lose to teams I think we should beat would f***ing suck (especially Detroit). It would be a massive missed opportunity.

Beating the Yankees is wonderful, but they are not my world series, the World Series is my World Series.

No way man, I think it would be infinitely more disappointing for the Jays to lose this series at this point with a 2-0 stranglehold.

Let’s hammer these a$$holes.

I want Vlad launching a nuke in the first inning and I want him to pimp it so hard that the boos start raining down before he even hits first base.

I want Yankees fans to watch ball after ball clank off the wall while their infield boots routine plays. Their strikeouts piling up, the scoreboard flipping like a slot machine for the visitors.

And I want nine full innings of the broadcast camera glued to Aaron Boone’s face as he slowly, visibly realizes this is it. This is the night it all ends, that he’s watching his last game as Yankee manager unfold pitch by pitch.

Run wild on the bases. Pound the zone. Make the plays. Break their spirit.

Let’s bury these frauds. Go Jays.

I am hoping for the Dodgers for a couple of reasons.  The main one being home field.   The second being how sweet beating Shohei and Roki would feel.

I heard Carney was looking at harnessing the energy from the wind generated from Ben Rice whiffing on splitters.  I loved watching that for the first two games.  Honestly, if it were to go 5, I don't think Rice should be in the lineup against what will likely be Gausman and Trey.

Seriously how the f*** did Ben Bird have such a good season when he literally can't make contact on offspeed pitches?

You can bet your ass we will be seeing both Bednar and Williams in game 3 (and 4) regardless of the score. So hopefully we can get a few off Rodon early.

But just think about how much harder it would be to get tickets

Will be a tough game.  See how it goes.

If they stay hot with the bats, they will win.

Hope the "A" bullpen is good again like in game 1.

Bieber 6 IP

Fluharty 1 IP

Varland 1 IP

Dominguez or Hoffman please use Dominguez unless it's a 4 run lead 1 IP

Fait accompli

Edit: Reallistically we'll probably need to use a second lefty at some point

I was surprised how pronounced Bieber's reverse splits are as he's been clobbered by right handed hitters to a .396 wOBA against vs .192 wOBA vs left handed hitters. I do expect that the Yankees will likely trot out their usual lineup with 6 left handed bats as their right handed bench bats don't offer much in the way of impact so that bodes well for a good outing provided he can keep guys like Judge and Stanton in the park.

Yes, Springer can play OF with Santandar at DH or just go with Lukes and Davis at 2B.

Waiting for the lineup to be posted. Should be interesting.

Santander looked comfortable in his right handed AB in game 1, I would give him the start.

Same, although I can see them prioritizing defense over offense with Bieber on the mound.

I'm refreshing Twitter/X way too much this far before game time

Rather losing to a hated divisional rival is some crazy work.

I think that Masterbather likely does the bulk of his posting wearing his Yankees PJ's so this should come as no surprise.

Your number bad takes this season are adding up, but just September and October alone are something to behold. We may have to stop the counter.
