Obviously it isn't over but there are like 4-5 guys in the lineup slumping at same time with Scherzer on the mound doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Nothing wrong with being frustrated. Masterbather Verified Member Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 I think some people here get the idea that some of us are nervously pulling our hair out while on our knees in front of the TV watching the Blue Jays with sweat pouring down our face. Well maybe some people are lol As someone who's been watching sports for almost 40 years, I'd have been dead a long time ago if this was me. I'm calmly sitting down in my most comfortable chair watching it all unfold, for better or worse, and 99% of your favourite team sports' seasons will end for the worst, while sipping on my favorite beverage. infinitebook Verified Member Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 I know the Jays still have responsibility for this loss, but I still can't get over an umpire purposely calling a guy out in a bases loaded situation in a huge end of the season game. This isn't game 54 in the middle of summer. In no other league does that happen... Stangstag 1

Thankfully we shouldn’t have any more pivotal calls like this that can change the course of a game, starting next season. Homeplate umps making calls based on players “showing them up” is an absolute joke.

Crazier things have happened, but the likelihood of this slipping away has jumped significantly. I'm happy we're in this position in the first place, but doubtful it will end well. Bring on 6 months of people complaining about the FO and management. Perhaps listening to 4 seconds of music between every single f*cking pitch last night drove me off the deep end. Perhaps listening to 4 seconds of music between every single f*cking pitch last night drove me off the deep end. Teams turn it on and off for seemingly no reason. Hitting is contagious and it's all about confidence. Bo was getting 2 to 3 hits a night. He was on a tear. Losing him put more pressure on everyone else. Schneider had his normal AB with runners on 1st and 2nd and got it to a 3 and 2 count and then he swung at ball 4 that was a ball out of the hand. When you're going well you take it and it's bases loaded. When you're pressing and you want to score runs and get the big hit you swing over top of that one. Who knows. It could be a Santander homer that injects some life into the team. I think it's almost a blessing that we're in this situation. We're desperate to win the division. We're facing those nerves and learning how to handle them. I'm a massive Vlad fan, but we need the big guy to get a couple of big hits before the playoffs. We're facing Skubal tonight. I'm sure most have already put an L down. There's nothing better than winning games you don't expect to win. Hopefully we can get it done tonight somehow. Spanky__99 and Stangstag 2

Does anyone know when this trend of the RC sound guy playing obnoxious music/noise between every pitch started? I don't remember it during the AA years, but it's been super noticeable the last couple of years. When Springer was up in the 2nd inning with the bases loaded, right before the first pitch, the crowd was super into it. Then the first pitch is thrown, and the stadium immediately does that obnoxious music trying to prompt the crowd to chant "let's go Blue Jays", and it completely killed the buzz. I don't get it. When the crowd is dead, then sure, but when the crowd is already making a ton of noise, I don't understand the logic. It's annoying watching at home, I can't imagine how annoying it would be watching it live.

max silver Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 Last night's game was another kick square in the nuts. I'm not one for conspiracies but it's hard not to feel like the MLB umpires have it in for the Blue Jays over the last week. Between the Lukes fan interference play that was ruled a home run despite Lukes being prevented from an opportunity to catch the ball, to the Varsho catch that was ruled a trap despite angles clearly showing the ball in the glove the entire time, to the Springer double that was called foul despite angles showing it inside the line, to the egregious strike zone last night that cost the Jays a lot of base runners it's really hard not to be increasingly incensed over the situation. Mixed in with an offensive slump at the worst possible time has led to a really frustrating week. thatoneguy and Spanky__99 2

It might just have been my perception (and the generally pissed off mood I'm in), but the seats felt really tight. I felt like the c*nt who ate 12 hot dogs, 2 smash burgers, 15 beers and smelt like an ashtray was sitting in my lap. The drunk wh*re behind me must have dropped 25 F bombs right into my sons ear before apologizing every single time. Some random young kids joined her and her BF/Husband/Friend? late in the game and she's openly talking about wanting to f*ck the 22 year old (she's mid 40's). And no cup holder there either.
