Waylanderz Verified Member Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 I am now rooting for a long extra innings game between the Rays @ Cubs. Cubs up 4-3 in the top of the 8th.

The Yankees have a VERY easy schedule to close out the year and ours is going to be a dogfight. We need the Orioles to step up. Hopefully we didn't demoralize them too much this series. Waylanderz 1

The remaining schedule is more than just favorable to the Yankers. They have 7 with the Orioles, 3 with the White Sox and 3 with the Twins. Jays have 7 with the Rays, 3 with the Royals and 3 with the Ded Sux. We need to learn how to win in Tampa in a big hurry!

If we win every single game, we could beat the single season franchise record of 99. Perhaps more attainable is going 8-5 to bring our franchise all-time record over .500 once again. We'd join the Astros as the only expansion franchises in that group.
Waylanderz Verified Member Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 A good start for Boston. 3-0 and still no outs in the 1st. Gen.Disarray 1

A fourth run on a Yankees defensive miscue. This really is a huge game. A Boston win gives us what essentially would be a 5 game cushion with 14 games left Waylanderz and Gen.Disarray 2

Laika Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 Magic number for the division will be 10 at the end of the night. But 9 if you factor in the tie breaker. Jays could suck and go 5-8 and the Yankees would need to go 10-3 to flip the division. Sorta comfy? Spanky__99 1

That never seems to matter to Tampa. They routinely kick our ass no matter how each team is doing. But everything else has been a magic carpet ride since May so maybe the magic carpet goes through Tampa.

Gen.Disarray Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 Hopefully Baltimore can get their s*** together and play the Yankees tough. Would anyone be surprised if the Yankees swept the Twins and ChiSox? It might be more surprising if they didn't. Lol
