jmomcc Verified Member Posted September 6, 2025 Posted September 6, 2025 Man Gausman is f***ing turning it on lately. Keep this rolling and i am very confident in him as a game one starter. Channeling some peak ace gausman energy. I give Atkins a lot of s***, but he is an extremely successful FA signing. Orgfiller 1
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2025 Posted September 6, 2025 Wild that everyone (including me) were crowning Seattle as the biggest threat in the AL and now theyre hanging onto the last WC spot by a thread with 4 teams right there.

A few hiccups here and there with the pen but why in the hell would they not feel super confident right now? They can hit and they can pitch. Jays can hit but recently can't pitch. The Yankees should be licking their chops at a potential sweep this weekend. We got them at a perfect time when we faced them before and after the All-Star break, they are catching us at a perfect time right now. Hey Masterbather: BatFlip and Spanky__99 2
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2025 Posted September 6, 2025 Big f*cking Dib boys. I was at Morgan Wallen (humble brag - incredible show) and missed it, but was checking on my phone. Gausman absolutely shoved and a huge game from our start player. Well done. Now let's go get Game 2. Wallen brought out Jose and was wearing a Doc jersey. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOPnL5bAAmC/?igsh=OTM0cWgwMGJtaDJw

Jesusindashed Verified Member Posted September 6, 2025 Posted September 6, 2025 Red Sox lose too it was a great day
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2025 Posted September 6, 2025 The amazing this is that Cam Schlittler didn't even look bad. I mean he looked great for most of this. Nasty stuff and he threw strikes. The Jays just game planned him perfectly and spoiled so many good pitches. Like how many 99mph heaters just above the zone did they foul off? Governator Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2025 Posted September 6, 2025 and some of you said you'd be happy with just 1 win this series... Keep it rolling

Given some of the Blue Jays bullpen struggles, we need some SP's like Gausman to go 7 or 8 innings if they can. Makes it much easier to manage the bullpen afterwards rather than from the 5th/6th inning on.

Would be huge! If Gausman is cruising through, I hope we don't see him lifted by the 5th or 6th inning in a Postseason game. Given the pen struggles and volatility lately, that extra inning or two we can get from Gausman or Bieber can really help. G-Snarls 1

I do also, to a point. The thing is, hitters from 1-9 now are far better at doing damage on balls in play so "pitching to contact" isnt as valid a strategy as it used to be. Pitchers were careful with a teams top 3-5 guys but the bottom 3 or 4 were just...fastball down the middle and watch them ground out to the IF for the most part. Saved a lot of pitches that way
