june.june Verified Member Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 Jays hitters aren’t to blame the past two games 21 runs given up by the pitchers in 18 innings two Senior Starting pitchers didn’t have their A game but middle relief pitchers just shite the bed

gruber9292 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 Good thing the ball grazed off Springer's shoulder before hitting his ear flap, probably saved him.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 Very disappointing outing from the veteran Bassitt. Going 6 innings in this kind of scenario is exactly what he gets paid to do and he dropped the ball. Stangstag 1
Masterbather Verified Member Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 Well that was a game of baseball. Offense hasn't been great the last couple of games, and some poor decision making at times. Bad baseball. Tomorrow's going to be a tough day at the office.
Nexii Verified Member Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 4 runs scored is not that bad of offence. League average is only 4.40 this season. Our pitching just needs to be better. Especially considering our D is #1 by a mile Spanky__99 and Jays24 2

We had plenty of opportunities against pitching that's not very good today. Today wasn't so bad and we got a little unlucky at times but we still should have scored more. Baltimore is going to hit, that part of their team is not broken right now, we're going to have to score runs.

I think a lot of fans perceptions get skewed simply because we haven't had a great pitching team in like forever. This years team is not good at pitching. We're 19th, not even close to average. Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 You knew things were just going too good for us. Now we lose 2 of our best hitters in the span of 2 days, both to head injuries we're unsure the severity of. I reallllllly hope these are just minor injuries that don't majorly affect Springer and Kirk's performance for the rest of the year.

At least these last 2 games have confirmed what we all knew was a clear need. We desperately need to acquire 1 reliable starter and 1-2 reliable bullpen arms. I will be extremely upset if we waste this roster's potential this year.

I think you may be misunderstanding me, I'm not anywhere close to suggesting the pitching had been good enough but in fairness Scherzer was very good yesterday, if we had mounted any sort of offense throughout we would not have put in our white flag pitcher to help put that game out of reach. Green will be gone soon anyway. Today was total systems failure for the pitching, I understand we lost because of the pitching. My point is our offense hasn't been great the last couple of days and in general we're going to need to score runs against Baltimore.

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 ..I would be ok with 2 high leverage arms if we can't get a starter

Those bums blew it in the last inning and are 6.5 back. The Yanks just lost their best player who was propping that garbage team up and in response they are dumpster diving by adding Rockies players lmao. I’m not worried even if we go on a bit of a skid.

I’m not worried even if we go on a bit of a skid.   Thankfully we’ve built up a bit of a lead/cushion now where we can survive a short skid. Its also deadline time so a perfect time to bring in some reinforcements. Honestly just need to play .500 ball from here on out. Weather the injuries. Hope Vlad gets hot. Jays24 and Terminator 2

A key play was Mullins robbing a potential 3 run home run earlier in the game, that was a game changing play and who knows how the final score ends up if that ball left the park. Spanky__99 1
