Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 If I’m Chris Bassist. Nights like this I’m targeting my first complete game of the Season. Stangstag 1
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 One thing no one considers is that 16 consecutive games affects the Starting Pitchers as well. These guys often get 5 days of rest throughout the season but that hasn't been the case lately. So hopefully we can get at least 6+ out of Bassitt and 7 or 8 would be gold. We've got Lauer vs. Houser tomorrow so it would be best to save our top arms to unload on them tomorrow. Thankfully, the pitching staff finally gets a breather Thursday and then the ASB shortly after that. Stangstag 1

Yeah with the current roster configuration, this looks like the best lineup they can field against RHP. Wagner is a noodle bat so he shouldn't play above Loperfido or even DS, and Jimenez historically has been better against LHP.

I think I'm getting to a point where I'd like to see Schneider getting starts vs LHP only. I'd prefer Straw batting ninth and patrolling CF with Lukes in LF. Does Schneider's bat vs RHP add more value than Straw's defence in CF and base running? Straw is the superior athlete and can do the little things offensively, imo.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 Kinda funny/sad that Springer has been relegated to full-time DH at this point. He’s a guy a would’ve expected to be at least average in a corner OF spot for the duration of the contract. Gotta wonder what the situation would look like if Santander was healthy. One of them would have to play OF each day. The team is probably better off right now with Lukes/Barger/Schneider playing the corners. Next year might be a bit of a struggle unless they’re somehow able to move Springer in the offseason

Next year might be a bit of a struggle unless they’re somehow able to move Springer in the offseason I’d probably rather have Springer at DH and Santander in a corner at this point. The metrics favor Santander and he's not as bad as I'd thought. He's just slow and stiff but otherwise seems to know what he's doing out there. And Springer seems to like DHing. He’s said it lets him do things between innings which is probably watch video and take hacks in the clubhouse. Plus, Santander has always had a big DH penalty. They really pushed him to the limit in his last start. If anything I think they'll try to back off him a little bit in this one.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 I'd go with Robinson Piñata twisted his ankle after fleeing Chicago fun violence last night to get someone on the IL. Definitely better than slipping while getting into the cold tub.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 Come on Barger, do some damage early
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 Love that Barger is spitting on those curve balls. They aren't even bad pitches. Missed his cookies though, damn
jaysthebest Verified Member Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 Barger missed a middle middle pitch.

infinitebook Verified Member Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 Pitching around Bichette so you can face Barger and throw a fb right down the middle for him. They got the result, but I question that process.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 Come on Bassitt, settle down. Need you to not f'n suck tonight
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Bassitt actually drives me crazy winding the pitch clock down to near 0 every friggin time lol
