Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Vladdy was due for a baserunning screw up lol

The fact that he takes two strikes swings with fewer than two strikes, and the fact that he's constantly late on fastballs. That shouldn't be happening. Somebody with his talent and bat speed should not be late constantly. He misses cookies way too often for his talent level. His home run totals are way too low for the number of at bats he gets and his raw talent and power.

neverbeenhere Verified Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Is JS thinking about pulling Bassitt?
june.june Verified Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 I am not personally worried of Vladdy’s overall contribution to this team’s success. I think the HRs is why people are frustrated. Have they looked at his batting stance? Are his arms too high above his back shoulders that can create tension and making loading difficult? Maybe that is the real reason of the high frequency of ground balls.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 78 pitches through 6. He can do 8. Don’t do what you did last night John.

But he's also very good at baseball and exciting to watch. We should be cheering him on.

He should be hitting with a lot more power. He has been a disappointment relative to his talent. That's the bottom line. Some of us are perfectly fine with who he is and others will never accept this version of him. That's just how it seems to be on this board.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Are they going to call this game? They should. We don't want one of our guys getting hurt in the slop.
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 And here comes the rain....wow that's a lot of rain.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Wow that happened quickly. Looks like a summer storm, in fast, goes hard, doesn't last long.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 I was planning to be at this game but the timing didn't work. Now I don't feel so bad.
gruber9292 Verified Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Just checked the radar. Looks like the game will resume sometime between 10:15-10:30 EST.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Rain delay gonna make sure Bassitt can't go out again. That truly blows.
neverbeenhere Verified Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 They should just call it the game

Masterbather Verified Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 They could have taken us to a much more competitive game than the Yankees game. I get the standings and all, but this game is f***ing over.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Red Sox are quietly on a bit of a heater, winning 5 straight and now just 1.5 back of Tampa for the last WC spot.
