What part of his approach at the plate makes him an idiot?

The fact that he takes two strikes swings with fewer than two strikes, and the fact that he's constantly late on fastballs. That shouldn't be happening. Somebody with his talent and bat speed should not be late constantly. He misses cookies way too often for his talent level.

His home run totals are way too low for the number of at bats he gets and his raw talent and power.

Yeah he hasn't been nearly as bad as in past years so I'll give him a pass on that.

PLus he has 2 hits and 2 rbi's

I am not personally worried of Vladdy’s overall contribution to this team’s success.  I think the HRs is why people are frustrated.

Have they looked at his batting stance?

Are his arms too high above his back shoulders that can create tension and making loading difficult?

Maybe that is the real reason of the high frequency of ground balls.

78 pitches through 6. He can do 8. Don’t do what you did last night John.

Well I don't think those things (which are arguable) are a function of intelligence.

He laboured in his last start. I wouldn't push him much beyond 90. 7 innings is great.

I think people are frustrated because our face of the franchise is a himbo. But he's also very good at baseball and exciting to watch. We should be cheering him on.

He should be better. He should be hitting with a lot more power. He has been a disappointment relative to his talent. That's the bottom line. Some of us are perfectly fine with who he is and others will never accept this version of him. That's just how it seems to be on this board.

Are they going to call this game?  They should.

We don't want one of our guys getting hurt in the slop.

I was planning to be at this game but the timing didn't work.  Now I don't feel so bad.

Wow that happened quickly.

Looks like a summer storm, in fast, goes hard, doesn't last long.

Rain delay gonna make sure Bassitt can't go out again. That truly blows.

Yeah, it almost certainly means the end of Bassitt even if it's a short delay.

They could have taken us to a much more competitive game than the Yankees game. I get the standings and all, but this game is f***ing over.

Mets/Orioles tied at 6-6 in the bottom of the eighth.

Let's hope that they just call the game so our bullpen can get a rest.
