Watch us get swept here lol

I wouldn't disrespect the Angels, not only have they already beaten us this year in a series but they've been generally surprising.

Also, it's natural to have a let down after an emotional series like that.

Got to keep them in the ballpark, that's what they do well.

The good news is we are getting the back three of their rotation. Hopefully we stay focused.

Need a lopsided score tonight, hopefully with the Jays on the winning end. The entire pen is basically shot. Lauer-Estrada-Sandlin with a Jays win would be ideal, although the Angels seem like a bad matchup for Lauer with a bunch of power hitting RHB.

After we won last night I went and celebrated by getting into several bar fights so I didn’t see anything online after spending the night in the drunk tank.

Has Michael Kay shown his face since the public flogging he took this week? What about Aaron Boone?

Kay resigned after getting drunk and smashing up his Ferrari,  Boone got fired on live TV by Hal Steinbrenner in a reality show style segment.  Cried a lot.  Aaron Judge, in a remarkable show of solidarity said if Boone is gone he won't make any swings at the plate until they re-instate him.   He'll just stand there and either walk or strike out.

Don't bother fact checking - I'm sure you're tired and don't feel great man.  We'll get the news directly to you on here.

Angels are better than people think they are. What they do have is a lot of power and that can change a game quickly obviously. But this should be a team they beat although they pummeled us in Anaheim earlier this Season.

Next 9 games are against Angels, White Sox and Athletics.

Should be a 6-3 stretch minimum, anything better would be great. What this team really needs is the SPs to rattle off 6+ every night until the all star break. The pen is ragged right now

I wouldn't necessarily frame the earlier series against the Angels as some kind of beatdown. The Angels took 2 of 3 games, but one of the victories was by a single run as that was the first game where Hoffman surrendered 3 runs in a third of an inning.

Damn right but it won't be Lauer doing that of course

Need Berrios Gausman and Bassitt to go longer

I just heard an interview with Lauer saying what a great mentor Bassitt is. Called him "C Bass". Reminded me simultaneously of a Jim Carrey movie LOL.

It was probably worse than I remember. But yes that was really where the Hoffman implosion happened and he had that brutal stretch after being unhittable in April.

That series seemed to have acted as a bit of a launching off point for the team. Since the last game of that series they've ripped off a second best in MLB 33-18 run.

Figured Kirk would get the night off given he played all 4 games against the Yankees (3 at catcher), and I guess not surprising Vlad is out after fouling the ball off his foot last night.

A little confused why they didn't just keep Lukes in the leadoff spot. He was a massive spark plug last night.

Gimenez collected 5 hits and a walk in his 2 games in the leadoff spot so that's a perfectly fine choice as well.

That's a bit of a soft lineup towards the bottom especially as Clement and Schneider are not the same hitters against righties. I understand it given the circumstances but oof.

Good to see Gimenez is good to go.

Just when you thought things were finally getting a bit normal, Schneider pencils Giminez in at the lead off spot. I thought it was a typo at first.

He's been going well lately.

The only objection I would have is that he has more power than Lukes and it might be more valuable if their positions were switched. Our options are somewhat limited for today's game.

Normally id look at that lineup and start crying but I just dont know what's good or bad anymore.  I've just assume everything will be great now lol.
