Best part is after all that Hoffman only threw 9 pitches.

He’s pitched 4 times in the 7 games so far. And he’s pitched back to back days twice already. Off-Day couldn’t have came at a better time.

Boys - all things considered, this is a great start to the season.  Despite the lack of home runs, the offense is looking great so far, with contributions up and down the lineup.  We head into a difficult stretch now, but have put ourselves in a good position.  Well done.

Have you seen Davis Scheneider try to hit recently?

And what Orgfiller said. He was being replaced defensively anyway.

I understand he's gonna play defense but I'd rather see Wagner/Roden bat and get the quick than see Lukes waste an AB there lol.

This team certainly looks more well rounded than last year.  Last season when our big boppers struggled the outcome was predetermined.  Vladdy and Tony starting the season with a power outage is compensated by a balanced attack.  Love to see it, but lets hit some home runs in Queens.

Wasting available players isn’t typically something you want to do when you’re already  leading. You probably see Roden or Wager in that spot if the game was tied or the Jays were losing.

Team has looked good, but to be fair we have faced mostly bad pitching so far.

Need to see how these guys hit against better starters, and need Vlad and Tony to start hitting bombs

Someone used to post a We're Streaking gif, I miss that one. Good times.

I listened to the game while working, what a great job by Lucas. This Springer guy seems pretty good, wonder if he'll stick.

This wil forever be known as the Easton Lucas game.

Still prefer Yarbrough at this point? We know that Yarbrough's ceiling is decent long man, but Lucas really opened my eyes as a dude who looks like he might be a legitimate option for the back end of the rotation.

Washington is not expected to be a very good team but one can never downplay a sweep, especially since I think most of us were concerned about the pitching matchup going into today's game.

Vladdy is still killing too many worms, and certainly there are concerns in a couple of areas pitching wise. All in all though a solid start to the season considering the lack of power.

Starts to get real in the next couple of weeks. We'll find out a few things about this team.

Well this game certainly went the way everyone expected.

  • Lucas handily outpitches Mackenzie Gore
  • Gore is roughed up by the Blue Jays
  • Springer dinger off of Gore
  • Several hits from Straw off of the bench

It's really easy to feel good about this team right now. Once Santander and Vlad start chipping in with the home run ball this offense could be downright dangerous. I was very impressed with Lucas, as his fastball in particular was a weapon up in the zone and the command was very solid as well.

Vlad has actually been getting under the ball a tad too much so far. Leading up to the game his groundball was easily at a career best 35%, which is a 10% drop from his previous best.
