God I hate vlad's ******** inside-out swing on 91mph inner-half fastballs.

That s*** should be parked in the 3rd level in LF

Kind of a mix really.... he's getting good run prevention results, but his stuff has been pretty meh overall. Flashes of some really good stuff though.

It was fine, your typical Bassitt start pitching around trouble.

To a point. Today its kinda like he was unlucky to get into trouble, and lucky to get out of it. He could just as easily have given up 6 runs.

Walking the tightrope ...

That's all you get for a $460 Million USD offer. Needs to be $585 million USD present day value if you want XBHs and HRs.

Still can't believe we're talking that kind of cash for him. It's been hard not to think about it has he's been a complete non-factor so far in this 4-game series.

We shouldn’t be but here we are. It’s going to be extremely difficult to extract value from that contract as well.

I like that he has that swing in his arsenal, as like a 2 strike approach or something, but not on a first pitch. He's probably the easiest hitter to pitch against. Just throw him inner half fastballs and the worst result you end up with is an oppo single, and most times it will just be a flyout.

He kinda seems like a similar hitter to Manny Ramirez. 0 awareness and 0 understanding of what pitchers are trying to do to him, but he’s got so much natural talent he’s able to overcome it.

Manny was famously known to not even keep track of the count in an AB, he would just swing at strikes and not swing at balls. Vlad seems to be a similar hitter.

This is NOT a new take for me. However, no way I do it. I mean we have had him all this time and we are still where we are.

I think we need to do a Tony Fernandez/Fred McGriff,  for Joe Carter/Roberto Alomar trade just to change the culture/chemistry.

This is kind of a disservice to Manny. Manny was an extremely intelligent hitter, what you’re saying about him not keeping track of the count is more that he didn’t really change his swing/approach depending on situation. Someone like Judge is like that, just looking for damage all the time, if you whiff some then it’s fine.

No, Manny literally didn’t keep track of the count in an at bat. Not hyperbole
