Damn that's a tough one. That's a really tough pill to swallow. I don't know if I could have accepted that one as readily as you have. There will probably be some ups and downs still to come emotionally. Good friends and family goes a long ways.

Yea, I guess the word accepted is a bit of an overreach.  The sadness is mostly missing him right now and I'm not angry, I've slowly accepting that it was his time. I feel very thankful for all the support we've had and it's allowed me to reconnect with some past friends as a result.  I've also learned my mother has a lot more friends than I do.

I feel you man, my pops is on his way out the door right now with dementia, don't wish this shitshow on anybody. My sincere condolences Gov.

That's what got my dad as well. Absolutely terrible. I took small comfort in the fact that he himself did not realize what was happening, it's everybody around them that pays the price mostly. Best of luck.

I'm sorry to hear man, I've talked to doctors and they all agree that he would have had the most peaceful death at least without pain so I'm thankful he didn't have to go through the struggles of being.... older or sick.

Is this ump Adley Rutschman’s biggest fan? These are some horrible frame jobs that he’s letting pass.

Was the challenge of balls and strikes only for Spring Training as a test?

There really is no ideal. Either they go suddenly and unexpectedly or they go old and sick. Both suck for different reasons. You just hope they live a good life while they were here and that's it.

Hmmm, do you think it would hurt the value of some of the best framers in the game?

It doesn’t remove it entirely since you only get two (incorrect) challenges a game. I guess if you always guess right then it could but if you’re strategic with when to use the challenges then framing is still an element for most of the game.

Yes, thanks for the insight. I watched my grandfather die from parkinsons over years of deteriating, I was very close to him. It was such an awful battle. Life is often not fair but it does come down to what you make of it in the time you have.

Very nice bounce back win. The difference good pitching makes as well. Looking forward to actually getting to watch the full game tomorrow! Middle of the work week game and an Apple TV game. Got to watch like 2 innings total on my phone so far.

Even went out to a bar and they couldn't put the Jays game on because they don't have Apple TV lol.

Glad the Jays bounced back though behind Gausman! Lets make it two in a row tomorrow!

I wonder who will catching Mad Max tomorrow, Kirk or Heiny?

I’d bet Heiny. Give Kirk a day off his feet

I lost my dad last week and the season couldn't have started at a better time for me.  I'll be around a lot more now.  Hopefully everyone else has had a good start to the year.  I think the Jays look better this year than people are giving them credit for.

My condolences man. Really sorry to hear that.

With baseball starting up, hope that can help you take your mind off some things.
