Only one hit. This has been the pattern the past seasons. Is Mattingly the common Denominator? Their approach is terrible.

It almost feels as if they do 0 gameplanning against opposing starters.

They grab some bench and stare at an ipad, way after the fact. Solid approach.

Guys I think the fact is that they simply do not have a great lineup

There isn't much in the way of expected good batting average in this lineup, so it stands to reason that they won't get many hits or hit well with RISP.

All hitters in the lineup are projected for over 100wRC+. Not many teams can say that. The lineup is perfectly acceptable for a competitive team

You rarely face a number 5 starter on opening day...lol.  Like we're facing a decent pitcher...people get too worked up.

And all we had to offer was batting practice Berrios.

I'm pretty sure Gausman is our best pitcher not named Max.  Berrios wouldn't have been my choice.

Going to be a long season, boys.

At least the new forum looks great.

Great forum and great stadium upgrades. Maybe next we can get a great team.

The O's are just a much better team, we saw this coming years ago boys. Maybe the 4 people in the 500 level restaurants are enjoying the game.

Jokes aside Jose Berrios is dogshit as far as "opening day starters" go Eflin was always the heavy favourite.

Sigh.

Why not Gausman? Kind of disrespectful to give the OD nod to the guy who is your 4th or 5th best SP.

It's one game so pointless to draw any sort of conclusion over it, but Berrios is definitely someone I'd worry about, and this is dating back to last season. Feels like he's heading towards "league average innings eater" rather than something closer to a mid rotation starter, and that's not ideal. Again just one start but people have had this concern about him for a bit.
