Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 The Bieber stuff is interesting. It's hard to decipher Ross' corporate gobbledygook. Could mean he is hurt. Could mean he's fine they are just being cautious with workload coming off TJS. It's probably the latter. Stangstag, Spanky__99 and Olerud363.354 3

The way Bieber spoke about himself he was fine, just needs to tighten up his command that'll come with more reps and better results, I have no worries atm. BatFlip and Terminator 2
Olerud363.354 Verified Member Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 They should resign Bassitt and Tatsui Imai Then just have guys on stand by half the time, experiment with 4 inning outings, starters being the setup man sometimes. piggy backing, 6 man rotation sometimes... everybody end up with 140 innings, maybe Bieber less. Option Yesivage for a couple weeks for a rest. Put Bieber on the dl a few times. All kinds of crazy stuff then just aim to be fresh for the playoffs. And as a second purpose to this make sure different types of relief work aren't new to these guys. Like your first opportunity as a set up man is ideally not game 7s. Gotta still make the playoffs so that is why they need Tatsui Imai to do this. Realistically probably never work... because guys have their routines... or maybe it would. Spanky__99 1

Olerud363.354 Verified Member Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Crazy how far the Jays got given... 1. Bieber was dealing with forearm tightness and unable to handle a full playoff workload 2. Scherzer looked done at the end of September and they went 1-2 in his starts. 3. They lost all 4 of Gausman's ALCS and World Series starts. 4. Bichette was injured all of October 5. Springer was beat up and injured some of October. Despite the fore-arm thing they went 3-0 in Bieber's ALCS and World Series starts, 3-1 in Yesevage's. Almost no question the Jays could have a healthier and better playoff team next October. Also sadly since so much luck is involved in this, this better team may not get as far. jaysblue and BatFlip 2

If Jays lose out on Tucker I wouldn't mind seeing them still in on Imia. Make a super-redundant 6 man starting staff to battle the Dodgers super-team, then can move some guys to the bullpen if all healthy in October.

They are definitely looking to gain a foothold in Japan judging by the ads they are running over there. It could be okamoto or Murakami too I suppose. rogers the media company I am sure is eyeing up SNNow revenue from Japan. Olerud363.354 1

I guess they would have to get rid of Berrios in that situation.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 LA got burned when they signed Conforto, lucky it was only a 1 year deal - the Tucker rumor makes sense - they are desperate for a corner OF bat
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Tucker on a short term deal with the Dodgers unfortunately makes a lot of sense for him. I’ve said before I don’t think his market realistically involves that many teams, especially now with the Phillies presumably out and the Yankees focusing on Bellinger or cheaper alternatives. If he doesn’t have big market teams driving up the price on longer term deals, then a short term deal on a higher AAV is probably the smartest way to maximize his dollars. MLB players usually prefer more years so curious to see what direction he goes in, but I think the Dodgers might be a real possibility for him now.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Nah, I don't agree. This is a once-in-a-career chance for a mega contract
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Well at least it's been reported that Tucker has been in talks with the Jays, and even toured their facilities in Dunedin, that way we know they are driving up the price on him for when he ultimately chooses the Dodgers. It wouldn't really feel like a proper off season without the Jays being close to signing the biggest position player free agent lmao
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Some insight into why Y Pinango may have been left exposed. Jays sure have a type, lol.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 The Jays can't afford to let Tucker sign elsewhere, least of all to the dreaded Dodgers. That means the Jays may have to extend the term. Might have to go seven years. Perhaps the better option is to get Belli for his versatility? Bo is off my radar. Sorry but it is better to take a pass on him. Let him go to Boston and age ungracefully. Bob_Gratton and abola2121 2

I guess what he is saying is he just thinks Pinango will struggle in MLB Even if he ends up on a team that has a brutal DH/LF projection, he is competing against guys like Endy Rogriguez, Mickey Moniak, Heriberto Hernandez, Jhostnyxon Garcia, Griffin Conine, Adrian Del Castillo, Miguel Vargas, Jordan Beck, Jack Suwinski. I kind of agree that the most likely path is probably a) he gets selected, and b) he puts up negative WAR for a month and is returned

ORLANDO, Fla. -- If there's one team willing and able to give outfielder Kyle Tucker the $400 million he seeks in free agency, it's the Toronto Blue Jays, according to many of the agents, executives and managers at baseball's annual winter meetings this week. Both of us said "if true" Maybe you were directing your comment at "PunchoutPitch" who-ever that is... I am not fully convinced what "PunchoutPitch" has to say is true either, I didn't bother to check secondary sources but did qualify it with an if statement.
