I mean, I love the idea and those moves but they're highly unlikely and not realistic. Like it's nowhere near close to happening. This isn't a video game.

No way the Mets move Vientos who already has established himself as one of the more intriguing young power hitters in the game for one-year of Vladdy + an expensive extension.

I could see a Roberts trade happening but who knows if the Jays have enough or are even interested.

I don't see how this team has enough money to spend on Santander along with pitching.

I'd love that trade but I don't see the Mets committing a mega contract to Guerrero alongside Soto. If Guerrero played SS, 3B or CF maybe but not for 1B.

If we trade Vladdy I think we gotta identify the teams that have the financial means to extend him and also Vladdy would want.

Yankees & BoSox? - sure but in-division

Phillies

Dodgers? - but how many more mega deals do they want? Appereantly they didn't go hard after Soto

Giants

Cubs

Tigers? - history of handing out large contracts

Rangers

Astros

I can't think of any other team willing to she'll out a 400M+ contract...

He hates the Yankee's so they'd have to shell out a hell of a deal. I think I remember him talking about Boston and loving Fenway. I can see Devers moving to 1B soon so that could cause an issue unless one of them DH/rotate.

How do we feel about Tanner Scott? What kind of contract would you be willing to give him?

Tanner Scott is the guy you spend money on when your front office admits defeat on developing any kind of pitching including relief pitching.  So yeah, he’s a candidate here.

Are you trying to suggest good organizations never sign dominant closers?

It was a joke dude, our pitching development has been straight ass thus far. 😅

Oh right.  Ha.

You PIST today, bro. I'm sure he knows good teams sign closers it happens every year. Thought he was just crackin' at our development of pitchers. Anyhow Rickey T is going to come back and shove and save our franchise!

I haven't given up on Ricky T!

Past two days I have seen rumors on the Jays being interested in Carlos Estevez, Verdugo, Kenley Jansen, etc.

It's just pure comedy at this point

I saw Gregor Chisholm comment on this in that the Jays are tight lipped and that most of these rumors are coming from agents. As most of us all thought. (The rest of you actually think the Jays are trying on all of them and striking out.)

If the Jays get Verdugo I'm taking a cheese grater to my Blue Jays tattoo.

In addition to this, the latest from Shi Davidi:

"To wit, they’re staying in the game on Anthony Santander, although they’re probably not the favourite to land the switch-hitting outfielder right now. They remain engaged on Alex Bregman and Pete Alonso, but are believed to be on the periphery on those fronts, and the same may hold true on Tanner Scott. The Blue Jays are also said to be actively working the trade market, which is where the centre-piece of their winter work thus far – Gimenez – came from."

At this point I'm expecting the next time there is a significant Jays transaction (which will feel like a year from now by the time it happens), it will be a name no one was discussing.

Well I think we're all sick of hearing they are "in" on every FA and a "finalist".  Let's try something different - we're not going to land ANY of the remaining impactful free agents.

The most mixed messages floating around.  We're in on everyone, we're not resigning any of our guys, we're trying to dump our starters... and so on.  Time for Edward Rogers' boys to tell some truth.

I bet they have made less than 3 formal contract offers this offseason.

Mariners have claimed Danner. They do well with relievers so wouldn't surprise me if this one ends up looking bad.

Yeah, probably. This arm actually made it through AAA and onto the MB roster before getting hurt in the midst of his one and only appearance.

There are obvious reasons why front offices aren't open and transparent about their plans and agent/player interactions.  Almost all the rumors your hear comes from agents and others and you should probably assume a lot of it isn't true, or is stretching the truth.  Lots of people rely on clicks to get paid - so it shouldn't surprise anyone that there are false rumors fly around nonstop.

I might take a break this season.  Maybe just follow Bowden Francis' starts.  The rest of this team isn't worth watching once Vladdy goes to Boston or wherever.

Quitting before the season even starts huh?

Why you gotta be  like that?

I've been a fan since about 1981 when we were regularly in last place in the old AL East.  We were always building towards something and had some great players coming up like Tony Fernandez, Tom Henke and others.  Right now I just don't think this team is worth watching.  And supporting a s***** team will not force the rebuild.  Doing nothing is probably the worst thing we could do.  Either rebuild or add.  Doing nothing is the worst option.  If all we've got to celebrate is the new coat of paint on the Dome then f*** it.  I'll watch the one player that's worth watching and that's it.  Right now I'd dump most of the bullpen, all of the outfield and half of the infield.  And who do we have in the system to replace them?

Juan Soto

Corbin Burnes

Teoscar Hernandez

Anthony Santander
