The Padres and Dodgers a combined 15-0 is wild.

The entire AL Central is 2-4 which honestly makes sense. Can MLB just declare that nobody wins that division this year? Y'all lose, go home.

Lucky I got the early payout on Bet365 with the Braves since they were up 5-0 haha. 

Awful start to the season for the Braves. Bullpen couldn't hold it tonight and they had multiple opportunities to put up crooked numbers with the bases loaded and failed.

Yep. This is why its not on the FO for not getting it done. When 50% of the parties involved in a negotiation don't want to do it, the other 50% isn't at fault.

Marte was also already under contract for a few more years so he didn't have much leverage or negotiating power. Seems like the Diamondbacks just approached him, guaranteed him a good chunk of more money in the future, in exchange for reworking the next few years of his deal to save them some money for whatever reason.

Marte isn't a good comp at all.  Merrill is better.

I do hope fans at least now see that perhaps the FO aren't complete morons.  I hope the narrative of angry fans is starting to understand the complexity of these situations (and others).

I think there's a good probability that Vlad doesn't get the contract/number he wants and he may even end up signing for less than he's already been offered.  He had the leverage and asked for the moon - which he's entitled to do.  Kudos to the Jays for not giving into his demands.  I think he's a bit of a dumbass and I don't really like Vlad, but I still think the Jays should and will re-sign him.

First 3 all reached base and then Perdomo hits the grand slam.  Hasn't gotten anyone out.

If this happened with the Blue Jays the exact same group of fans that is so incensed over the Blue Jays decision to let a mediocre replacement level longman type go to the Yankees would also be super pissed at the front office if Yarbrough had this type of blowup as a member of the Blue Jays.

The bat being used by MLB players presently was in fact invented a couple of years ago. I even linked an article outlining when it was created. The fact that there was an aluminum bat with a similar looking barrel does nothing to change when the current MLB torpedo bat was invented..

Rockies call up Chase Dollander. I thought this signaled an usual fumble of theirs in missing the PPI, but it seems the prospect just needs to be called up within 2 weeks of Opening Day. Although in either case, what further info could they have gotten from the 4 IP he pitched in AAA to begin the season? lol

Torpedo bats have been around for far longer than two years.  The new piece of this puzzle is that they are analyzing the swings and where the players hit the ball on the bat typically and fully customizing the placement of the barrel for their players.  Brilliant if you ask me.

I haven't been able to find a single piece of evidence that points to the current bat known as the torpedo bat having been around for more than a handful of years. There have been plenty of other bats that had unusual shaped barrels over the years but the current bat is a new creation.
