As many of you know I'm not around nearly as much anymore, I simply don't have the time now days. I can barely even catch the odd Jays game. Coincidentally, I was approached by someone who wanted to take the site over, and put more life into it. As server costs keep increasing, I was open to the idea. I wouldn't have agreed to this unless it was something that would be best for the board and all of you members here. This was a place we all grew together over ten years ago and I know many of you are quite close. The last thing I would want would be for this to go downhill or end in some way. The new owner wants to grow the site, start adding articles and make it a Blue Jays hub. Similar to how we started with BreakingBlue.ca (for those that were here), but unfortunately fizzled out. He will be looking for people interested in writing, and will also pay for any content they use. I told him we have some very talented writers here that have written some amazing articles that got a lot of attention. I think this will once again open some opportunities for some of you here. He will also more than likely update these ancient forums as they are no longer supported.

I will still be around from time to time and will be forever. For some of us here we are going on 15+ years going back to the old MLB forums. I want to thank everyone for making this such a great community and the great mods for helping look after this place we all love.

Pretty crazy that it's been over 11 years since admin started this forum because the MLB.com forums were closing.

Cool - is the new owner a regular here?

No, a Twins fan first and just a baseball fan, I believe. He will post here soon. I don't know the full details but my assumption is he originally bought a similar site, added content, improved it, etc and then did another and now has a set process to repeat it.

Hi everybody, my name is Brock Beauchamp and I'm part of an ownership group called DiamondCentric. As you may be able to guess from the name, we only do baseball (or at least I only do baseball).

I'm one of the people who founded TwinsDaily.com about a dozen years ago. As we built that into a really large super-site, my interest in the Twins actually began to wane a bit. I'm still a fan but given that I've lived in many different states in the US, I wanted to explore other fandoms.

That led to me buying BrewerFanatic.com, which was a forum much like this one. Over the past three years, we've built it into a really cool place for Brewers fans to hang out. On top of basic forums to discuss the team, we offer tools to create your own offseason plan, our community votes on prospects to help us build our top prospects rankings, we offer user blogs to all users to practice their own writing and get in front of other fans, and a bunch of other features. We will roll out front page articles/analysis from some *really* good writers. Our managing editor is a FanGraphs alum, Davy Andrews. He's great, you're gonna love his stuff.

One of my favorite parts of the site is the Players Project. It's a wiki-style platform where users can create and edit pages for their favorite players.

One thing I want to stress is that I wanted this community because of all of you. These older team-specific legacy communities have a hard time staying afloat against Twitter, Reddit, et al that tend to squash the little guys. My goal is to prevent that from happening and keep sites like this with their 10+ years of posts and users available for years to come.

So we'll be talking. A LOT. Because you all make this place great and all of you should have your fingerprints on the site and influence how/why decisions are made. In a nutshell, I view myself as the anti-SB Nation. Each site is different with its own personality. All of you make the site what it is and your feedback is really important to making sure the site runs the best it can.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you in the coming weeks!

Thanks admin for your work over the years. I'm sure at a certain point it became an annoyance and chore to deal with the site but you always kept it running for us.

And let me be the first to welcome you to the board Brock! If you need some help getting the lay of the land I'd be happy to help. I used to be the Sheriff here (since retired) so I know the ins and outs of this place as much as anyone.

I have a few suggestions to help you start off strong. First, I would recommend that you ban the two aging sex pests who have been asking for it from the start. Everyone knows who they are so I don't need to name them publicly but feel free to DM me and I'll let you know who they are.

Site seems a little zippier. Haven't noticed any ads on mobile either.

I haven't had to delete a porno spam bot yet today, which is nice

Awesome news... thanks to Admin for keeping this place afloat and thanks to Brock for wanting to take this to the next level

Well things have gotten less busy here for sure. Though I haven't been helping in that regard lately. So it will be interesting to see a new era of the forum.

Welcome, Brock!

I thought we all moved here because of the dogg and s*** mods

I've followed that site for awhile but haven't approached it in any way. Out of curiosity, what don't you like about it?

Mostly just the Orioles fans so we're probably going to be fine.

I'm just being facetious, it's a long standing tradition to take shots at the O's hangout, I don't actually visit there at all.

One of the Orioles Hangouts main guys (I think his names was Weems? And I think he may have died in real life?) used to come over here and talk s*** to us.

He once bragged about how Orioles Hangout had a "real life celebrity" poster on their board. The celebrity he was bragging about was Roy Firestone lol. So there's all sorts of backstory that has made Orioles Hangout a meme.

Hah. Okay then. Part of the reason I never reached out to anyone there is because the vibes of that place never sat well with me. There are loads of baseball communities I've ignored over the years because I either find the team distasteful or the community is just effing toxic.

We get Tom Tango and Gibby, lol. Who was that wrestling pro that went after Firestone on set, for continuing to call wrestling fake?
