wRC+ 155... he's knocking on the top 10 door.

Kwan dropped from 157 to 155. He's actually tied for 10th in the league with Alvarez and Profar.

I think if we want a chance to sign him to a long term deal either next year or even in FA I donÂ’t think we want him to experience playing for another franchise, especially a decent team in a WS hunt.

To me heÂ’s untouchable atm. Ofc no ones untouchable with the right offer but I doubt that offer comes through.

I was on this forum calling people idiots that wanted to trade him when he was having a slump to start this year though. Selling low on a 25 year old with an extra year of control and elite metrics that all projected a return to his present numbers was moronic to suggest.

Now would be selling more at fair value in terms of how heÂ’s playing but itÂ’s so hard to convince the top stars to come up to Canada to play. Not as much as the past but yes still. Like we obviously werenÂ’t going to get Ohtani, weÂ’re not gonna get Soto when he becomes a FA, we couldnÂ’t get Tatis Jr or Julio Rodriguez etc etc.

If you have a home grown star this good who likes it up here already you try to keep him.

What's the O's roster even look like for this game? no way most of the guys they traded for would be there in time for the game is there?

No, they still have an A lineup in.

Going on record saying not in favor of Loperfido hitting 2nd.

The two spot is where you put one of your best damn hitters. They did this to Varsho with the cleanup spot when he first came over.

These are young guys who will have a lot of pressure to perform for their new team that traded for them.

Ease them in the first few games and don't throw them in a key line up spot.

Not like it is a playoff game etc. I just think they talk about setting up guys for success.

The flip side is he is hitting in front of Vlad, so he will see pitches he might never see in the 7th spot.

Just not a fan of throwing guys into the fire right off. It normally doesn't work out that well.

Rasmus and Varsho come to mind off the top.

For all of their supposed pre game planning they can't seem to get out of their own way. I doubt Schneider would want to hit him that high in the order. Khakis are unstoppable.

I'm fine with it, he's 25 years old and needs to be tested

I think you can both set him up for success and test him. I used to be the guy who would say hit a spec or young new guy in the order, thinking they were our salvation. I am not Cito Gaston or anything. I have just seen time after time young guys fail after a trade in a key spot. They put too much pressure on themselves to impress their new Team/fans.

Ease him in, let him get over that, and then move him up based on results. Not a huge deal, just think unnecessary pressure.

Yeah major head-scratcher. Hit him 6/7 and let him chill

Barger 2-2 with a HR and double so far. Glad they traded IKF. Give Barger a look at 3B and see if he's capable there.

Vlady might be at 3 war today - what a run

On July 13 he had a .799 OPS and today after his double it's .910.

Also nice to see Barger hitting.

I am excited to watch these guys all play more.

They can get almost all of Schneider, Horwitz, Barger, Clement, Loperfido, and Jimenez in there on most nights.

This Teams' run differential and additional losses without Varsho would be astronomical. He has seriously saved them probably 50 runs so far this year.

I know there a stat that (tries to) tells us, but damn he has saved a lot!
