we just threw one of our long relievers at them for 2 innings in a tight game and they barely dinged him

Cabrera for 2 high leverage innings could have gone very wrong, but outside of the home run to future Blue Jay Juan Soto, he wasn't bad. I guess they did not want to use Garcia, Green, or Romano today, so Richards/Cabrera getting through 3 innings was huge. Now have to hope Swanson doesn't show any rust, but at least he's not facing the top of the order.
