Yup, he was superb.

Not taking anything away from Blanco he was great tonight. The issue is the jays for the past few years don't seem to make any in game adjustments with their approach to hitting. This bad pattern is too common

Glad I missed this one. I was almost annoyed I missed the HR Contest lol.

He barely threw this change up last year.

You were right. The Astros after getting swept by the Yankees were very angry and wanted to win at all costs.

I’m pretty sure the team would hit better without any hitting coaches at this point. If they want to get paid they’ll figure it out. Get rid of the ipads too. Can’t get any worse.

100%. Too much reliance with that stupid IPad.

I mentioned it last season, Chapman was the prime example of a guy who relied to much in constantly tweaking his approach based on what he see from that stupid IPad.

old school hitters were more about the feel for the game.

Literally nothing has changed. Nothing.

Brandon Belt became Justin Turner and Matt Chapman shrunk 4 inches and lost all his power.

Everything else is 2023

Yeah no s***, they kept most of the coaches.

Rock bottom in the first week of the season lol. This team is just so frustrating to watch.

2-3 is rock bottom??

I mean it looks bad, yeah. But its 1 loss.

I know this is a joke but how much character do we have after the 3rd or 4th Shatkins era no hitter lol

Maximum character

Not sure what happened with Dante Bichette but when he was in dogout they seemed to have a better approach

Thought I remember seeing there was a sexual assault accusation or something inappropriate he did.

The postitive is Francis at least looked like he could be a number 5, homers aside. The stuff was actually pretty good and it seemed like the Astros capitalized on every mistake which not every team is going to do.

Offence on the other hand...welp. Looks bad on paper, looks bad in action both in results and process.

They changed the hitting regime though? Or no? I forget, lol

Mattingly runs it now. Guillermo and Hague are his underlings. They most likely all have different ideas. Mattingly probably can't even open the excel file Hague sends him.

The Rangers hitting coach is a certified biomechanics specialist, for comparison.

Yeah his stuff graded out well and against a lesser lineup he might be okay with throwing some meatballs every once in a while. He buckled down and got through 5+ despite getting rocked early. His xFIP was 3.10. He could definitely still be a #5 SP.

Mattingly runs the mental side. The rest is the same
