hanton Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 Well at least Schneider is forced to play Clement
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 I’d like to see Babe Schneider play in this park. That short porch in LF is made for him.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 FO is still too f***ing dumb to play Schneider. Unbelievable.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 FO is still too f***ing dumb to play Schneider. Unbelievable. Am I missing something here? DS had an OPS over 1.000 against RHP in AAA in 2023, and then came up and had a 134 wRC+ against them in the Majors (...when he was carrying the team to the 3rd WC spot). Why is he suddenly a strict platoon player? I don't understand why the team would rather start two 80-90 wRC+ players than take a chance on a prospect who has done nothing but hit since he's been called up except for 8 games in September 2023.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 What's also interesting is that Clement is playing SS over IKF and not only that but he's batting 6th and IKF is batting 8th. If he gets the nod when the harder defensive position is available to play, and he also bats higher when they are both in the lineup, then isn't that perhaps an admission that they think Clement is the better player? So why play IKF over Clement when Bo is available?

Whoever makes the Jays lineup is obsessed with handedness match ups. In my opinion the plan coming out of spring should have been to get Schneider and Clement in the lineup every day to see if they actually have something there. What have you got to lose?

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Exact same play where Hoskins bowled over McNeil on
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Got to hand to Schneider batting Varsho cleanup. The man is a believer.

june.june Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Varsho .133 BA/ .278 OBP and .133 SLG those are eye popping numbers So excited how he does tonight against a RHP slider heavy thrower
