Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Changeup on repeat lmao
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Varsho has been a complete pop up machine to start the season. It’s obviously early and this is all reactionary but man I definitely would’ve liked to see this revamped swing and approach. I’d settle for a hard hit groundball at this point to give me some hope again.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Has Varsho made good contact in play yet this season? Holy f*** he looks bad. Meanwhile, in Arizona, Gurriel & Moreno have been tearing sh*t up the past few days
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Someone get a hit please. Just accept being no hit again by someone who will be replaced in the rotation by June
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 KK is fading fast in the outfield lmao I honestly feel like the KK signing will be the worst of the offseason for us. Just a big overpayment and a waste of an outfield spot. He should be relegated to bench/4th OF but the front office wont because they promised him a starting role.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Say whatever you want about Francis today but I will say... There were some real positives here. And home runs can be somewhat random. Some of those big Houston hits were not bad pitches at all. The hanging slider was really the only pitch that sucked, tip your hat to the Stros.
june.june Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Future baseball literatures will be written to reflect on how great Varsho’s approach in that batting box. .118BA/ .250 OBP/ .118 SLG amazing numbers early in his sophomore season donning a Jays uniform Meanwhile Gurriel one of the league leaders in RBI Atkins is a genius
dippitybop Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Meanwhile, in Arizona, Gurriel & Moreno have been tearing sh*t up the past few days They’ll be doing Jays a favour by beating the Yankees tonight hopefully
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Just accept being no hit again by someone who will be replaced in the rotation by June
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 They have one hard hit ball (IKF) in 6 innings against Ronel Blanco with 15 swings and misses. Pathetic showing. Agreed, it's been abysmal tonight.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Cabrera really said f*** this I’m suspended the next two games anyway.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 lmfaoooooooooooo holy s*** we getting the lows early this year
MikeM3 Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 The scariest thing is Varsho still has the same holes.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 By the way, Genesis Cabrera sucks and won't last the season in Toronto
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 2, 2024 Author Posted April 2, 2024 I am not enjoying Genesis Cabrera's 2024 season
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Literally nothing has changed. Nothing. Brandon Belt became Justin Turner and Matt Chapman shrunk 4 inches and lost all his power. Everything else is 2023
june.june Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Guillermo Martinez our outstanding Hitting Coach has the easiest job when your boss is Ross Atkins. Love is in the air.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Literally nothing has changed. Nothing. Brandon Belt became Justin Turner and Matt Chapman shrunk 4 inches and lost all his power. Everything else is 2023 Mattingly has a beard this season.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 They’ll be doing Jays a favour by beating the Yankees tonight hopefully That would be the only ray of sunshine in an otherwise very dark day
Ray Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 I’m not going to overreact to one game, especially against a good Astros team. But the offense looks not much different than last year, if not worse.

Just a big overpayment and a waste of an outfield spot. He should be relegated to bench/4th OF but the front office wont because they promised him a starting role. Why do you keep saying it was an overpayment? He was projected for more money than Atkins paid, again the FA market cratered, dude. No one foreseen that.

Everything else is 2023 The Brandon Belt that is still unsigned? Not that he would be better but my god this is hard to watch.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Bad fastball down the middle...weak ground ball
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 2, 2024 Author Posted April 2, 2024 If Kirk had a dollar for every additional hit he'd have this season if he lost 40 lbs, he'd have like two dollars
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Kirk had the best sprint of his life and he was out by 3 feet still lol.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Good grief he’s only at 91 pitches
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Dude might go under a 100 pitches to boot... Oof!!!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Kiermaier is another one that has quietly been rather pathetic at the dish.
june.june Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 I am rooting for Blanco to get a no-no maybe just maybe, this is the moment Atkins ship Guillermo Martinez somewhere that teaching the basics of hitting is not part of the job description
