The_DH Verified Member Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 That should be easy: the first movement doesn't cross the strike zone so it should be a ball.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 with no runners on and his foot still on the rubber it's nothing -he can basically deliver the ball in any manner as long as he's not quick pitching which he isnt

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Michael Busch has homered in 4 straight games now. He's the real deal, folks. .340/.407/.723/1.131 Make that 5 straight games
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 I bet the Dodgers regret trading Michael Busch, imagine a team not having room for this bat. He has homered in 5 straight games and is crushing the ball
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Jackson Holliday = Jarred Kelenic?
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Jackson Merrill on the other hand appears to be a stud .386 xwOBA, making lots of contact while walking and the metrics even like his defense in CF so far
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Jackson Holliday = Jarred Kelenic? I sure hope so, although Kelenic is off to a decent start with the Braves so far.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Jackson Holliday = Jarred Kelenic? Based on the 1 spring training game I attended in which Jackson Holliday played, I didn't think he looked ready. He was overswinging and pitchers were carving him up.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 I sure hope so, although Kelenic is off to a decent start with the Braves so far. .600 BABIP baby
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Holliday busting would be an amazing development
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Andy Pages singles on the 1st pitch he sees at the ML level. Storybook stuff. This kid has hit at every level.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Astros are calling up Forrest Whitley. Kind of forgot about him. He didn't play in 2020 and 2021? He hasn't really been good since 2017/18. Interesting story nonetheless.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Holliday is just suffering from performance anxiety. I think j-rod went 0 for his first 36 or something.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 this time is different. kid is soft. looks like a girl. Kids got SOFT hands, aint never worked a goddamn day in his life.
Ray Verified Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Jared Jones: next Spencer Strider? Dude was sitting 98-99 mph today against the Mets. Absolutely nasty.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Good, chuck her in jail, add the other bitch too.
mphenhef Verified Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 With respect to Holliday .220/.281/.390 That's Mike Trout's slash line from his first cup of coffee (135 PAs)
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Not very attractive and not because she's black or anything. Bauer is better than that. Better how?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Bauer is an 8, she is a 4. We know these ball players go based on looks, not talking personalities here. Lol, that's a lot of stereotyping in one post
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Bauer is an 8, she is a 4. We know these ball players go based on looks, not talking personalities here. 8? The dude can't even grow a proper beard.
mphenhef Verified Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 I didn't know Holliday was hitting 220 with a near 700 OPS He's not, but you are missing the point. If you want to look at a smaller sample, this is Trout's slash line in his first 47 PAs - .163/.213/.279. Trout struggled a ton and then became the best player in the league. Using any numbers after 23 PAs (good or bad) to make a determination on Holliday is a fool's game.

mphenhef Verified Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Nobody actually thinks Holliday is a bust. It would just be pretty swell if he was. As a Jays fan, it would be. As a baseball fan, heck maybe it still would be...no one wants to watch an Orioles dynasty.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 As a Jays fan, it would be. As a baseball fan, heck maybe it still would be...no one wants to watch an Orioles dynasty. Many people in baseball will celebrate the impending Orioles dynasty as it punctuates and celebrates the end of the Angelos family's involvement in the sport.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Michael King's chucking a No-No through 7.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Michael King's chucking a No-No through 7. Him and the Padres needed that. He'd been woeful to start the season. Not exactly the kind of start they envisioned for the centrepiece return to the Soto trade.
