connorp Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Singer has been decent but yeah wow that top 10 is really weak. If you’re going to put him in bold, you’d have to do the same for India, Kelenic, and Bohm
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Bauer confirming he's been blacklisted
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Bauer confirming he's been blacklisted Damn, he’s not pitching. It’s this season or never, I’d think. Score one for King, wherever he is.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 That’s certainly collusion. Likely unprovable but no way there isn’t collusion.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 The lying **** ruined his entire career. Pretty f***ing sad.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Damn, he’s not pitching. It’s this season or never, I’d think. Score one for King, wherever he is. Seems so. If/when he signs again in Japan over the next few weeks that's it for his MLB career.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Bauer made enemies in MLB (Manfred specifically) well before the scandal happened. I’m guessing that’s at least partly a factor here.

Yeah given the constant thorn he was in the commissioner's backside (admittedly largely deserved) it's not terribly surprising he's not receiving any favors from MLB.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 You guys should listen to him on Theo Von’s latest pod. Good listen
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Jays should just sign him. But the leftwing woke media here would be all over him. He should just go full Sean Strickland and watch the tire fire lol.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 That’s certainly collusion. Likely unprovable but no way there isn’t collusion. Not necessarily Very possible all teams just see his as a PR nightmare. He's an objective PR nightmare after all...

Bauer would be great to sign and trade at the deadline as well.

Bauer would be great to sign and trade at the deadline as well. No chance they will though. They would alienate a lot of their fans and all the SJW would go nuts on Twitter. Tbh I don't think would be a good idea for them to sign him, especially since its not the biggest need on roster. You would think a team like Texas or KC would sign him though. Their fans wouldn't care plus similar to Chapman, the team could get a good return at the deadline if they decided to trade him. Its almost like the reverse Colin Kaepernick situation.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Not necessarily Very possible all teams just see his as a PR nightmare. He's an objective PR nightmare after all... Bs. Playing in Texas for example, doubt it would move the needle much, all things considered.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Sign him and only have him start on the road!
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 That's pretty cool. Always thought the Blue Jays could capitalize on something like this given they Rogers owns SN, like what the Raptors do with the Open Gym. Netflix has a huge outreach and I'm sure they'll gain fans out of this much like Netflix has done with F1 and the PGA shows.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 This will be awesome Last time they followed the Red Sox with a camera they won the World Series... The movie with Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore...
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Bauer confirming he's been blacklisted This makes me sick. Grow some balls Shatkins and sign the man. Then trade one of our current starters for some hitting help.

Ya like it’s up to Atkins lol. Rogers would never allow. Nor should they. Not worth the risk and terrible PR.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Last time they followed the Red Sox with a camera they won the World Series... The movie with Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore... I have seen it, but could not name it. Not a movie guy at all
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 I have seen it, but could not name it. Not a movie guy at all Fever Pitch. They were filming during the season to actually incorporate a scene into the movie when the Red Sox actually real life won the WS. They had to rewrite the script because the writers had actually assumed they would lose in the playoffs. The actors were filmed running on the field and celebrating.

Insert Sean Strickland video lol. I agree with what you're saying but I truly wish there was a "f*** it" mentality here. He will help you win games and that's all I care about.

This movie is a guilty pleasure for me. I always watch it when I see it's on TV.

wilko Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 If Bauer doesn't get signed by anyone, it has to be collusion. Who wouldn't sign him for league minimum? Tack on some performance bonuses.

Tack on some performance bonuses. I'd say if there was no dark cloud of the BS over him, then yes for sure. But the guaranteed PR nightmare is a valid reason not to sign a guy without it crossing into collusion territory. It would be a very Tampa move to grab him though. Nobody watches their games anyway and it would only become a thing for visiting teams media on the road which could be shut down rather quickly with a few interviews demonstrating even the tiniest amount of admission that he understands why he is a PR nightmare and accepts even the tiniest shred of responsibility for his situation. Not guilt....responsibility. He does that and he's signed tomorrow.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 There's the PR issue, affecting a good portion of the fan base and there is the risk of further incidents. The 2nd possibly more of an issue for teams than the 1st.
