Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 I wonder if there is any chance we don't give up a f*** ton of runs today? Maybe have our first solidly pitched game?
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 This is where it would be nice to have Otto Lopez instead of Lukes, so we could throw another righty in the lineup.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Kikuchi's gonna deal today. I can smell it.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Thank god, they moved Chappy up in the lineup. And Belt far away from it.

Speculation on my part, but I bet they wanted to have both Kiermaier and Varsho starting today given the size of Kansas City’s outfield, so not even sure if Otto would’ve gotten the start for this one.

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Have to think that Lopez would project significantly better at the dish than Kiermaier, against a LHP, though.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2023 Author Posted April 4, 2023 Varsho not hitting cleanup. Surely this will make for a more peaceful GDT.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 by the way, Moreno is hitting .154/.143/.231 with no walks is that good?

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 With BTS Starting the GDT and Kikuchi Starting the game. Most slam dunk victory of all time.

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Kirks gonna be out of the league before hes 30 if he doesn’t get his weight under control. doesn't matter, he's a free agent before then
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Kirks gonna be out of the league before hes 30 if he doesn’t get his weight under control. Not our problem

At the rate Atkins is signing young players to extensions, I don't think we have to worry about how any young player currently on the team will look at age 30. They'll be gone way before then.

They'll be gone way before then. Can’t fault them honestly. The Berrios extension looks terrible and his track record was about as good as it gets for a mid-rotation arm. Imagine handing Vladdy 300 million and he shows up to spring training 300lbs next year
jaysthebest Verified Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 For those who don't care about Kirk's form when he reaches the age of 30, do we even have a young catcher to sign with after? We traded our catching prospect Moreno for Varsho.

We traded our catching prospect Moreno for Varsho. Moreno wouldn't be a young catcher when Kirk is 30 ... he would still age every year like every other human.

MON4NHLTOR4MLB Verified Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 My problem wasn’t trading Moreno, it’s what you could’ve traded him for instead potentially, like maybe swing and miss instead of signing pitch octopus
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Kirks gonna be out of the league before hes 30 if he doesn’t get his weight under control. Kirk needs... What's Ross waitng for?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 My problem wasn’t trading Moreno, it’s what you could’ve traded him for instead potentially, like maybe swing and miss instead of signing pitch octopus There’s definitely a universe where we trade Moreno for a good arm and sign someone like Conforto instead. Im still pretty certain Varsho will be a solid contributor over the next 4 years though, glad we have him. Bassitt we’ll see.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Kikuchi is going to save the season tonight
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Bubic's career MLB numbers. There is 0 reason the Jays shouldn't absolutely push his s*** in.

We traded our catching prospect Moreno for Varsho. Kirk is 24 with 4 years of control. This just isn’t a thing that anyone needs to worry about for a while.
