Playing way below expectations and still acting like a clown with his ice baths and strutting around with his shirt untucked pisses me off. I have watched his progress since we signed him all those years ago and was really excited watching him advance up each level but he is becoming one of my least favourite Jay's. Add to that his "safe" calls when he is running and (to me) he has become a guy I want to see humbled so he starts respecting the game and his talents more.

Agreed with all of this. I was hoping removing the Barrio and creating a new culture would help but nope

He’s very immature and has been told how great he is his entire life.

He probably becomes a superstar at 28 when he finally begins to grow up.

I'm hoping sooner than that.

Same here with the Barrio stuff but he has had almost the opposite response in regards to growing up.

It seems like he has double-downed on his juvenile antics. Early in the season he pantomimed putting on the home-run jacket. What the f*** is that about? Showing up your management team? Why do that? He had to know that was a statement. He put himself into the home run contest at the all-star game because "his family wanted him to"? On merit there is no way he should have been a contestant. Wow...he won. It really seems like he thinks it's the Vladdy show and not a team game.

We already went through a "please get in shape vladdy" campaign where everyone asked him to take things seriously and get in shape (after he claimed he.had never worked out). It didn't sink in for more than a few months.

He just doesn't have the drive. He is a goofball with no attention span. Do you think he ever pays attention to the game on the bench? Nope. He just doesn't care to work on his craft, and now that his talent isn't enough to carry him, he's just an average player.

We should move on from him asap.

Look at this man's post history^^^

There's zero point to taking his opinion up to this point as serious.

Then ignore me. You don't have to pay any attention to me, and I'd prefer it that way. You're a tumbling dickweed of a person who just runs people off the boards.

Almost all of your posts are stupid but I just ignore them. You think mine are stupid so do the same.

I really can't stand you

Hmmm, next years team....starting pitching should be strong, especially if Manoah bounces back.

1. Gausman

2. Berrios

3. Kikuchi

4. Bassitt

5. Manoah

No depth though, too bad Tiedemann battled injuries this season. It'd be nice if he was busy f***ing up AAA hitters right now.

Bullpen should be stellar, as long as a whole bunch of arms don't regress. The only guy they're losing to free agency is Hicks, who they didn't have all year anyways, and he should/could be replaced by Green. Plus there is a s*** ton of depth in the upper minors now too.

1. Romano

2. Green

3. Swanson

4. Mayza

5. Richards

6. Garcia

7. Cabrera

8. Francis

9. Pearson

10. Danner

11. Pop

12. Zulueta

13. Cooke

14. Juenger

15. Burnette

16. Cimber (LOL)

17. White (LOLOL)

The defense will take a kick to the junk though if we lose KK, Merrifield and Chapman, which we most likely will.

Belt has been one of our better hitters (which is sad), so an already questionable offense may become even more stunted.

Kirk, Vladdy, Springer and Varsho could all improve things dramatically by remembering how to hit again.

Hopefully Schneider, Barger, Orelvis, Horwitz and Clement can factor in, in some positive way. Not all of them of course, but maybe a couple of them.

C - Kirk / Jansen

1B - Vladimir Hosmer

2B -

3B -

SS - Bo

LF -

CF - Varsho

RF - Springer

DH -

Bench - Biggio, Espinal

Lots of holes to fill and so many question marks with the position players.

Manoah should absolutely not be penciled in as the 5th starter.

Hoping for a signing of 1 back-end depth type guy. Joc Pederson would be my main target for the lineup with another FA pickup for OF/2B/3B.

Bullpen is probably fine as-is if we don’t have the money for improvements.

Gotta roll with 2 of Schneider/Barger/Horwitz/Orelvis next year IMO.

It ain't over, people will overreact to losing two of three, but it's far from over.

The problem is there are no signs that this is the type of team that's going to go on the type of run that will be required to grab a playoff spot. They are constantly four steps forward and three steps back.

It's a good team, but it's not a great team, everybody ahead of us is a better team. We will need some luck and some overperformance.

They need to make a big move for this lineup. Cant go into next year assuming vlad will be some offensive powerhouse, IMO. If he ends up being that year, thats a huge bonus.

Are Bo and Chapman going to miss any time? We need to get Barger and/or Clement up if so.

Don't worry. The team will play Biggio and Espinal combo for SS and 3B.

Ugh, guess we’re gonna be forced to see more of that black hole Don Schneider

Oh God. Not Chapman. We can't afford an injury to him.

He's been batting slightly over .500 OPS for August. Who can we possibly get to replace that kind of firepower.

It's not like we have some stud just sitting on the bench waiting for a chance.

Schneider and his noodle arm can’t play 3B tho

We’ll let Cavan and his noodle arm play there instead

Exactly, this team has one truly capable third baseman. Chappy hasn't been lighting it up offensively and honestly hasn't been at his best defensively lately but we have nobody else.

The problem is it actually *IS* a little difficult getting Schneider into the lineup every day because you want Merrifield getting full playing time too

But IYAM you just have to find a way every day as often as you can. This offense need all the help it can get and Scnheider/Merrifield >>>> Espinal/Biggio

astros have a series against rangers and a series against mariners. Mariners have 7 against Texas, no reason they cant take 6/7 with ease and knock those bigot f***s out of the wildcard. No reason the jays should need to play more than 500 baseball like they have been.

I am not smart enough to do the math on my own, but I have gambled enough to know some probability calculations. If you stretch it to say the jays have a 65% chance of winning each of the next 12 games, it is just under a 3% chance they will have a 5 game win streak during this stretch.

Nothing will be "easy" about the next 12 games

No baseball games in the MLB is ever easy. Just win as many series as possible from here on out.

Relevant context I want to include below this post: ever since Vlad Sr's obese son returned from his wrist injury on May 9th he has -0.4 fWAR in 405 PA, which ranks dead last among the position players currently on the active roster during this time. Espinal is 2nd last with -0.2 fWAR in 150 PA. For his season fWAR to be -0.5 I guess he had a really bad April. Something else I randomly noticed is Davis Schneider already has 1.1 fWAR in only 44 career PA!

Main point is, Atkins needs to option Espinal and call up Clement asap.

100%. If Bo and Chappy are on the IL get Barger up too. We are the anti Orioles who are playing their young players with great success.

If Bo and Chappy both need IL stints I want to see Espinal optioned and Barger, Clement and Lantigua all called up. 3 bats at once who are untainted by Guillermo Martinez.
