Guys like Kirby, Miller, and Woo have already reached their career highs in innings, so it's possible they start to fade in September. We'll see.

Well it seems pretty clear at this point that the Blue Jays are done with him pitching at the major league level this year. Even if there's an injury it seems they would be content to go with an opener over him.

I bet if the Jays actually kept DeJong and optioned Espy, Metafour would definitely be on board and support the decision 110%!

I don't think anyone is as "mad" as you right now when it comes to talking about DeJong and Espinal haha.

 

All Jay and BigC were saying is that Espy could have been optioned in order to keep some more depth, which isn't a bad thing. DeJong is better defensively, has hit LHP well throughout his career and does have some pop. Rosters expand in almost over a week anyways, so Espy could have been brought back up. It's not like sending Espy down for 7 to 10 days would have hurt the Jays offensively lol.
