jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Shocked they didn't do a Mill Street or Steamwhistle bar haha.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Big Corona fan tbh. Just tastes like summer or Mexico to me
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Shocked they didn't do a Mill Street or Steamwhistle bar haha. Mill Street would have been a really nice partnership to be honest. I'm not sure many consider Corona to be a quality beer, but it's decent enough. It's definitely a summer beer that most people can enjoy on a hot day.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Big Corona fan tbh. Just tastes like summer or Mexico to me It's a refreshing beer when it's super hot outside. Probably will cost $15 for a tall boy haha.
polar bear Verified Member Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Maybe not, but someone hand picked the people to get their preferred diversity ratio. So that counts for something You hit the nail on the head there bud.

Yeah Mill Street also has some good variety as well. Think it would have been a cooler bar for sure. Their Organic Lager is still my No. 1 favourite though. It's definitely a refreshing beer especially on a hot day.

I went on a tour at the Mill St. Brewery in Ottawa a few years ago while on vacation there. I tried everything they had on tap and it was fantastic. They even had some new ones that they only offer at the brewery.

I've only been to the one in Toronto at the Distillery District. Bought their Organic Stout from the LCBO the other day and it was quite good. Haven't really bought or tried their other beers. Always get their Organic as my go to beer at home when watching a game or movie haha.

If you're in the area (well, it's outside of the city, so you'd have to make it a specific trip) the Beau's brewery isn't too far from Ottawa IIRC. Beau's Lugtread is my favourite beer, and you all know how much I used to love beer, so that's saying something!

So that counts for something This is only a quick snapshot of the video shown here, but in the full length version there are a lot more white people, including a short bald one who is being escorted out for being racist and offering to purchase someone's daughter. It's amazing how realistic these 3D models are getting.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I like the name to be honest. We can finally move past the Covid nonsense. And Corona just means a quality beer again. Much better than any piss flavoured Canadian beer anyway. Lol like I said I didn’t even make the connection. I guess we are passed it. Also Corona f***ing sucks, one of the worst popular beers IMO. Although I recently discovered if you mix it with Amaretto it tastes somewhat like Dr.Pepper. Seriously.

Laika Community Moderator Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 The sponsorship is fine, haha Corona probably has to double their marketing budget for the next few years to reclaim their brand.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 These changes are going to be awesome. It reminds me a lot of what Coors Field is like in downtown Denver. The team always sucks ass but they usually crack Top 10 in attendance anyway (despite the weather in April and May being very iffy) based upon the strength of the location and the bar scene at the stadium. Girls go to the bars at the stadium bc they can dress up in Rockies gear and take pics for instagram without actually having to watch baseball. As for guys, girls + baseball = the perfect summer time activity. Then after the game everyone can go out downtown to party. The tickets are usually dirt cheap for this section but the team makes up for it in alcohol sales and they also get to build their brand. I'm too intense of a Jays fan to want to do anything more than check it out for the first time when I go to a game. It'll be an awful place to watch the game but for 20 and 30 something year old casuals this will make a huge difference. The family section is an interesting aspect to this. I'm sure other stadiums have versions of this and Coors Field has some family stuff but this seems like a more dedicated family section than I've seen elsewhere.
Virgil_Hiltz Verified Member Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 not so much the stadium but winning makes it fun!

As a true baseball fan, I find it difficult to wrap my head around the need for separate bars with lounge areas, fire places, bean bag toss, checkers tables?, etc. but there are so many f***ing casuals that I suspect this will all appeal to them and draw more people to the stadium. And of course, if it draws them away from bothering me in my seats (always getting up mid inning for more beer, wash rooms, or to just cruise around b/c they don't give a f*** what's happening in the game) then I'm all for it. Even just not being able to hear their f***ing conversations would be amazing. Finding a place where kids can roam around a bit and have fun is a great idea (hard for young ones to sit for 9 innings). I know Cinny has a big area like this - they even have a little infield set up where kids line up to play whiffle ball games. I really hope they can incorporate some new interesting food and beer options as well. Those are a couple of things I would enjoy throughout the game - along with some places to stand where you can get a different perspective of the game for a few innings. Cleveland does this well right down the RF line. Huge craft beer selection and a f***ton of designated standing areas.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I hope those kids are used to drunk strangers swearing a lot, and hitting on their moms while the husband goes to the bathroom.

They definitely ripped this idea from Coors. I can’t see myself actually spending more than 10-15 minutes there though lol. It should be a cool space though.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Casuals make up like what 90% of a fan base? Who cares why people are there, it’s a lot more fun to be at any event when it’s buzzing

Who cares why people are there, it’s a lot more fun to be at any event when it’s buzzing That is true. However I do specifically remember the crazy cheering from the Seattle portion of the crowd behind 3B when they scored the go-ahead run in that final game. There were probably more hardcore Seattle fans than hardcore Jays fans at those 2 playoff games. That is a bit embarrassing given the fact we’re in a different f***ing country 5+ hours flight away. Also the fact tickets were going for like 30$ each just an hour before first pitch.

Like show up after first pitch casual. Compared to the Seattle fans that were hanging around the stadium well before game time. Game 1 defs had nothing to cheer about. Game 2 had lots to cheer for until the 5th inning came around
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I could see these bars and sections also boosting season ticket hold interest or increasing the appeal of seeing a ton of games. It'll allow fans a change compared to their normal seat experience.
