hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Pretty insane what Bellinger is doing, even a better 2nd half
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Pretty insane what Bellinger is doing, even a better 2nd half I wouldn't call it insane, he's always had the talent
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 I wouldn't call it insane, he's always had the talent Nah man, he was rock bottom

Nursehoneybadger Verified Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 f*** you Max Scherzer, idiot pitcher.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 He can play against lefties down the strech. Less AB's for Varsho would be a win.
Nursehoneybadger Verified Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Adolis Garcia injured. Poor rangers.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Nah man, he was rock bottom Agreed, Jim's dumn. He bounced back bigly, far more than Jimmyc ever anticipated.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 That Astros Rangers series was so lopsided it's unbelievable Astros outscored them 39-10 over 3 games (13-6, 14-1, 12-3)
metafour Verified Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Nolan Schanuel through 15 games: A whopping 1 extra base hit (a 2B). Max EV of 101.2 mph which is bottom 6%. The contact and plate discipline are elite, but what a strange profile lol. The guy is 6'4 220 and somehow swings a pool noodle in the box.
Jaysareus Verified Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Rangers having a terrible time. Feel sorry for them at this point
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Wow. You guys can make fun of me all you want. I’m in Poland for a few days right now as a matter of fact. I wouldn’t even look twice at that. Lol @ bombshell

You have to think teams will just start pounding the zone on him and forcing him to hit the ball instead of walk. Hard to see him having success with an ISO < .100
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 You are so f***ing weird dude... I have to believe that you move around a lot because of the restraining orders against you. Like...why do we give a f*** where you are "as a matter of fact"? "I wouldn’t even look twice at that."... is because she doesn't look like the type of woman you could pay $100 to to be in internet porn. "I wouldn’t even look twice at that."... is because she would knock you the f*** out because she isn't restrained. "I wouldn’t even look twice at that.".. is because she looks like a woman that has her s*** together and is confident...thus making her hard-on repellant to f***s like you. Good post. Back to the Ignore List for ol' Chester the Molester and his weird un-baseball s***.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 I can't believe the Rangers fell this hard. Their run differential was tops in the league around the trade deadline and they added like crazy. Just falling apart. Hopefully they continue to do so for at least another week. Also, of course the Yankees are getting red hot just in time to play us 6 times at the end of the season.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 The Rangers tried to buy their way into playoff contention despite having no foundation, and now they’re in for a rough decade.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Cole Ragans is going to f***ing HAUNT the Rangers
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 The Rangers tried to buy their way into playoff contention despite having no foundation, and now they’re in for a rough decade. Seager and Semien contract are looking ok for next couple years at least. DeGrom I still wouldn’t call a waste. He can still be a playoff God one or two years. Should they have been a middling team, since you said they had no foundation? They gave the fans a competitive season. It’s still not over. Losing Jung hurt. If you want to drill them for the Chapman deal, I can get that. They whiffed. Jays did with Frasso to lessee extent but they also got 0 in return
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Their window on the Seager and Semien deals is interesting. Those 2 have been full value + to date, but their bill is due through the 2031 and 2028 seasons. Who knows with deGrom and that sugar high signing? Its become almost routine now when Mad Max gets lit up in an outing. He’s trying to spike the football on teams making splurges and it’s just not there
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Cole Ragans is going to f***ing HAUNT the Rangers Decent chance that a month from now they've missed the playoffs, and have nothing to show for Ragans, Acuna, and Saggese except a 39-year old Scherzer next year. They really should fire everyone.

Masterbather Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 The Rangers tried to buy their way into playoff contention despite having no foundation, and now they’re in for a rough decade. It might still work for them. We can't just dismiss the incredible success they had throughout the year because of one terrible stretch. Keep in mind that they're still in it. They do have some young talent mixed in as well. They also still have a couple of years to make it happen after this one.

Fans had a reason to stay tuned all year. Max and Chapman could still be making noise in the playoffs. It’s a bad take rn
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 did you just compare Nicky Frazzo to Cole Ragans? Loosely but I want some receipts. Show me someone talking about how great Cole Ragans was before the trade
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 They are on the precipice of disaster. Their lineup is mostly on the wrong side of the aging curve. Semien 33, Garcia 30, Seager 29, Lowe 28, Garver 32, Heim 28, Grossman 34... Eovaldi is busted. Scherzer looks busted. Yeah they could pull off a miracle this year but they are asking Jordan Montgomery, Jon Gray, and Andrew Heaney to carry them on the pitching side. BIG GULP. Things get ugly if they don't have a big run this year or next.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Loosely but I want some receipts. Show me someone talking about how great Cole Ragans was before the trade Why does that f***ing matter None of us run the Texas Rangers They owned the motherf***ing player and had no idea what they had

Chapman's been worth 0.5 WAR in like 22 innings and his pitching almost exactly how you'd expect him to - he's just gotten bitten by the long ball a bit (after not giving up any with the Royals - which wasn't sustainable). This comparison is awful.

Especially after that horrific Astros series. They aren't this bad, it's possible that they can't get this thing back on track, it's also possible that they come into Rogers center next week and smoke us and put in a strong finish to make the playoffs. Like you said, Max and Chapman might be playoff heroes yet.
