hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 They aren't as good as Los Angeles or Atlanta but in a short series, they have the pieces to upset a great team. oh yea not even close to either of those teams, right now it looks like they'll play the Phillies
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 That Oriole lineup ....Gunnar with a 3 run shot to put them up 6 - 2 over the Angels
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Certainly it's time to shut it down, right? Latest News Sep 5, 2023 12:26 AM EDT Ohtani (oblique) will undergo further testing Tuesday morning, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. Analysis Ohtani appeared to injure himself on a swing during batting practice, and skipper Phil Nevin stated that as of Monday night, the slugger is "pretty sore," per Fletcher. The team should have a better idea of Ohtani's availability moving forward after getting a look at Tuesday's test results.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 It’s kinda crazy the Cubs are firmly in the playoff picture. Everyone thought they should sell at the deadline I hope they get rewarded and win the division, it'll be tough as the Brew Crew are playing well too.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Sure sounds like it is I just saw his last swing, there's no way he comes back. Here's video... https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/video/angels-shohei-ohtani-scratched-with-oblique-injury-after-awkward-bp-swing/ This is good news... Balelo explained that when Ohtani sustained his UCL tear in 2018, the tear was at the top of his UCL. But this time, it’s at the base of his UCL and there’s no damage to the repaired UCL from the initial surgery. Balelo, though, wouldn’t get into specifics about the options for Ohtani surgery-wise. There is an operation with a shorter recovery time that involves using an internal elbow brace, but it’s unclear whether that’s on the table. “Multiple doctors looked at this and said this is the best-case scenario for the situation we're in,” Balelo said. “The ligament itself and the graft that was put in with the ligament in 2018 is still intact, no problems. And that’s a real positive to take away from this.”

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Rangers bullpen is turrible Let's hope it remains terrible during the Jays series!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 I hope they get rewarded and win the division, it'll be tough as the Brew Crew are playing well too. NL Central should be a fun division over the next couple of years. Cubs are going to be better, Brewers should still be relevant next season, Reds are improving and have a lot of young exciting players. I think the Cardinals will bounce back somewhat depending on the type of offseason they have. Hope the Pirates could start making some noise as well in the next couple of years.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Ohtani = It's so sad When healthy he's the most exciting thing to happen to baseball in decades
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Ohtani = Bryon Buxton: "Hold my beer!"
Masterbather Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 No McClanahan, No Rasmussen, No Springs and the Rays still have Glasgow, Eflin and Civale throwing better than any trio that we can throw out there. f***ing savages.

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Kinda like Chisholm's home run trot - wow was that a blast off Yardborough How come other teams don't get s*** on for home run celebrations ? last season the jacket was headline news here - it's all anyone ever talked about
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Damn, Jose Altuve with 2 HR last night. 3-3 with 3 HRs tonight.
Ray Verified Member Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Glenn Otto DFA’d by the Rangers (was acquired in the Gallo trade). Good slider, meh velocity, but I think there’s something thing there given his youth and minor league track record. Plus he has options remaining. Worth putting a claim or even trading a low level prospect for him tbh.
