I can't see the actual video? Am I missing a setting?

Right after posting it the first time, you usually need to refresh the site before it will show up for you. The rest of us can see it fine

How the f*** is that a balk in the Wind-up position? I'll wait...

The new rule states a pitcher must have a clear point to begin his delivery in order to stop the pitch timer, and Garcia’s multiple steps and arm motions don’t provide that. The rule says the pitcher is permitted to take one step back (or laterally) and one step forward. Thus, taking multiple steps before lifting the free leg is now deemed an illegal pitch movement.

Even if he does this with nobody on base, it could be called an automatic ball.

That's lame. You stop the clock when he starts to deliver the ball, it's clear as day in that video. I don't get it, sounds dumn AF.

Actually the clock stops when the pitcher begins his pitching motion ( i think... ill doublecheck the wording in a sec) which would be the problem with Garcia. When does his pitching motion start in all that?

**** Edit***** the wording from the rule states "The pitcher must begin his motion to deliver the pitch before the expiration of the pitch timer."

After his second rock back, but I feel the windup loses it's pizzazz either way, should never call a balk in a windup, I believe that tweet source is wrong, or baseball has collectively lost its mind. No one would be on base in this instance.... *smh* If true. Also in a wind up doesn't matter on the clock as long as they don't deliver, which is a balk.

Missed your edit, on the latter.

It's my firefox browser. I had to re-install everything on my laptop because of bitlocker. Fun times.

Come to think of it Gausman might get a bit of flak for his kind of stuttering step thing leading up to his delivery.

f***ing clown

How can you balk if there's no one on base? Am I missing something?

Edit: Nevermind. I should've read through the entire thread first.

That's f***ing stupid...if buddy wants to have an idiotic windup that should be his business.

Saw this posted yesterday. Curious to see what happens.

I tend to agree, though by the letter of the rule book windups like his were already illegal and could have been called balls long before the pitch clock. It was just something that was never really enforced with nobody on base. Umps could have been calling balls on illegal motions even without runners on base.

Why can't we post tweets properly now?

Elmo is hemorrhaging money, so he's now charging for the Twitter APIs. I assume that the makers of the forum software aren't going to pay the extortion money.

Edit: Actually, it was my DuckDuckGo firefox addon... But the API thing is coming, apparently.... Unless he changes his mind 17 times before tomorrow morning.

Thank you, removing DuckDuckGo addon fixed my problem.

There's a setting in the addon to allow embedded tweets, so you don't have to remove it if you actually use it (which I do).

Any word on new balls or about the inconsistency of the balls last year? Between the balls and this new balk rule, this season has a chance to be a real s*** show.

Atkins needs to get a deal done with the Brewers for Burnes pronto. Apparently Burnes got ripped by the Brewers during arbitration and he's not happy about it.

Stroman should sign the 6'8'' 120 pound McKenzie to an HDMH endorsement deal. He can head the Weight Doesn't Measure Heart branch of the brand.
