Poor dude, everybody just attacking you left and right. Im not sure how you can bear it

It's been like this all season. Instead of attacking Ross Atkins and the front office, they unleash their anger and attacks on me! I'm the BJMB punching bag it seems!

Brownie doesn't let anything slide. If you criticize Atkins or this front office in any shape or form, he's on you! He sniffs blood!

Wow what a shark, better make sure not to bleed in the water !!

Ownership needs to step in, Lord Edward III please save us !! Shatkins both need to go now.

Shatkins is making them money. Why would they dump them?

Atkins put together one of the best and most durable starting rotations in baseball, and also a very good and deep bullpen. Everyone but Hicks is under control for at least another year too.

The team also still miraculously pulled off 89 wins despite three core players (Manoah, Vlad, Kirk) going from a combined 10.8 fWAR in 2022 to a combined 2.2 fWAR in 2023.

No, I wouldn't fire Atkins.

But they pulled the starting pitcher too early and gave up 2 runs in an elimination game. You can't have that!

All jokes aside, if you take a step back - from an X's and O's perspective, you can certainly create a case that he's doing a solid job. No guarantee someone else will do better (grass isn't always greener). Then there's all this noise about losing the clubhouse and lots of feelings and such. I don't know what to make of all that crap. You'd have to have a lot more information to make a definitive opinion/decision I think. I suspect a lot of this is still raw and they'd be best to let things cool off a bit before evaluating and making a decision.

I'm ok on todays presser. Accountability very firmly on Shatkins now where I think it should be.

They are smart guys. They will either figure it out or not, but the stakes for 2024 go up for the team - results, fandom attendance and TV eyeballs. Use of renovated stadium etc.

Not what I want, but I thought it was less than 40% chance Mark did anything today. That was high.

I didnt want him hired, wanted him fired. But didnt get my wish. But what will be the excuse next year.

How many years should fans be expected to support a team that has a very good payroll and yet never gets it done. I have made my point and said very early on that this team was going nowhere and they lived up to expectations.

I hope that Shatkins etal are so embarrassed, that they somehow right this ship. But my last remaining point on this subject, is what free agent will want to come into this mess?

Shapiro should raise the tickets 25 percent across the board next season.

That way he becomes more useful for Rogers.

Brilliant idea. Thank you for your contribution to the board.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the 2024 blue Jays DONT win the world series. Will probably be attacked for saying so

That prediction will be right for 29 of 30 teams. Predicting your team won't win the WS isn't some indication of fantastic prognostication talents that only you possess.

I dont attack anyone for their opinion. And I have never expected or predicted my team to win the WS.

But it is not unreasonable to expect a management group that were given lots of assets and payroll to produce.

They have had lots of years and now lots of excuses.

This team was a mess from the start. Couldnt hit worth a damn and what I do expect is the men in charge to try to do something, and they did nothing and took no responsibility for their errors.

Perhaps this year might be the one, who knows. But when so far all they have done is scapegoat each other, to me it doesnt hold out much hope.

But I will move on and hope that this will be the year that they win a playoff game. How is that for prognostication talents.

Such a forward thinking, collaborative culture Mark created, hire a spineless manager who has no balls, to implement a script based on algorithms. Be a great robot executive. In playoffs, throw the data out the window. That's all instincts. Pat Borders, Steve Pearce were WS MVP's for Christ sake. think a computer would have predicted that

Tarred and feathered as well!

how about win their first playoff game in 8 years

Don't bring up the fact that the Jays under Atkins haven't won a Postseason game or you will be attacked!

I've said before, I think the next 9 months (off season and trade deadline) are going to be the Ross Atkins equivalent of 2015 AA. He knows the pressure is on with the timeline starting to shorten, and now add on the pressure of 0-6 in playoff games and an embarrassing exit in two consecutive seasons. I can't imagine he's going to head into the off season with the impression that he has years of job security. I expect at least one big signing and some prospects being moved in a trade(s).

Not a huge leap give they have 2 glaring holes to fill, but realistically the biggest signing they could make is Ohtani, which wont happen, the Snell, doesn't need to happen, I'm guessing the biggest FA they would be even close to thinking about is Candelario for 3b. Maybe that's a big signing? Definitely not overly splashy. I still want them to swing deal with Chicago for Luis Robert.

I'm not sure you can say 8 years without include the results of the 2016 playoffs where they advanced to the ALCS. If you want to argue that "wasn't Ross's team" then do that and adjust the number of years to what you believe "was Ross's team".

I meant big move in terms of a multi year free agent, not necessarily big move as in star player (other than Ohtani there really isn’t much there). Maybe the position player version of Bassitt. Soler checks a lot of boxes for what the Jays need as long as he’s not in the outfield so I could see something like that. Previously I was expecting some faith with younger players (Schneider, Horowitz, etc) but I’m not sure they go that route anymore. My guess is Orelvis and Tiedemann are the only prospects they will look to hold on to, and we see a trade or two with some others.
