Yay or nay

Worst loss I can remember but not worse series of losses. 85 and 87 were worse because they blew it over a few days. Though I was barely paying attention then. Since I started watching seriously I can't remember anything like this.

What the f*** would even be in contention? The last game of the 1987 collapse? That's was just a part of a bigger collapse.

I don’t even know

I started watching in 91 and this was the worst I’ve seen given it was an elimination playoff game. Just brutal.

So Raimel Tapia is the worst Blue Jay ever all things considered correct?

There have been worse players by talent but cmon. Consider the context and plays. Horrendous result, bad player

The season was lost at the trade deadline when Atkins failed to adequately address all the weaknesses this team showed all year. No impact left handed bat. No impact starter. Not enough bullpen depth. A lot of people on this forum seemed to think I was dumb for pointing it out because LoL yOu'Re A cAsUaL lOoK aT tHe NuMbErS but don't feel so dumb right now. Luis Castillo was one of the pitchers we failed to acquire, choosing instead to hold onto all 3 of Jansen, Kirk and Moreno. Ultimately it doesn't matter, we were never getting past Houston even if we beat Seattle. But man there are a lot of problems to address this winter. Have to really give Bichette a hard look and decide if he's worth signing long term or if we're better off moving him. I'm usually a pretty good judge of character and gives me that vibe where he's gonna bounce out of town at the first available opportunity.

One of the reasons this one hurts is because one through nine, we have a better lineup. They have the arms though which is one of the reasons I didn't want to play them. Sober second thought tells me that Cleveland would have shut us down too. Back to the drawing board for Atkins/Shapiro I guess. Gonna be a cold winter.

Pitching wins, period. Jays just aren't that good at it. Not much coming on the farm either. Whoever is steering this ship Atkins Shapiro didn't get the memo, thought we could have 10 right handed power bats, 2 good pitchers, 8 catchers and we could win it all.

Team really isn’t that bad even heading into next year except the f***ing bullpen is garbage

Like everyone else rolls out guys throwing 98 with nasty sliders. The Jays have Adam Cimber and Jimmy Garcia.

Oh well. I don’t take these losses as hard as I used to. A lot more to life than the outcome of a baseball game. Plus postseason ball is the best time of year no matter what.

Astros get the Mariners. Yanks host Cleveland.

A 1st baseman who can hit balls out of the infield would have helped in this series. Generally, an 80p ground ball rate is a bad profile for any position, but impassable a 1st baseman.

Tapia making the final out on the Jays season was almost a poetic way to end 2022. I just wish he would have reached 500 plate appearances during the regular season. The Jays certainly tried to get him there.

These two games have been, without question, the worst performances in franchise history. Mistakes in all aspects of the game. No focus, no preparation, and no compete level. I was ashamed to even be wearing my jersey by the end of the game. It will be the last time I waste money on tickets for a while.

I've been a big proponent of being patient over the past few years but BIG changes have to come this offseason. Players who don't care about winning, and there are clearly a lot of them, have to be moved out in favour of guys who are fully committed to winning.

It may not be cheap or popular, but we will never achieve success with this group. I've never witnessed a team in any sport put on a performance as bad as I saw the last 2 nights. It was disgusting.

‘87 was worse. That team was considered to be World Series ready with some reloading done after the ‘85 ALCS loss. The ‘22 Jays are/were not WS ready with holes needed to be filled in both the bullpen, starting pitching and left handed hitters.

Oh yeah...no way you should lose a game up 8-1 in the 5th inning, the doing it in an elimination game at home!
