Florida great weather, and like all tourism destinations, lots of things to do / eat at. Traffic is a goddamn nightmare.

Not really from May to September. It's f***ing scorching.

Questioning/defending the Jays moves aside, how about the Twins trading f***ing Christian Encarnacion-Strand++ for Tyler Mahle. CES is going to be a stud and that deal (along with the Castillo trade) has a little Chris Archer to the Pirates aging potential.

Traffic is a "goddamn nightmare" in Toronto and every heavily populated area pretty much haha. The 401 is actually ranked as one of the worst highways in terms of congestion in North America. That bottleneck from 427 to the 400 is the worst supposedly.

Tyler Mahle is much younger then Archer and trading for Mahle is exactly what you need to do to get in the playoffs and have success.. You don't not do that becaause of some position player spec... Look at what guys ranked much higher like Adell and Kelenic are at...

That trade is not even close to the Rays and Pirates trade..

Amazing weather pretty much year round (May-September it's a scorcher though), very cool and vibrant cities, towns and places, beautiful coastlines, Spring Training, no state income tax, lower cost of living in comparison to other states. What's not to love?

Just need to bulldoze the Trop and build a new beautiful ballpark haha.

Every American state is largely the same. Pretty much every one has great cities and towns as options to live in, and then they have a large amount of insane people living outside. Same deal for all of them. Rural Washington state is largely the same as rural Georgia or Florida.

The only differentiator is climate. I like it really hot so I’m a fan of Arizona especially.

I’m not sure the people who chose to live outside of the concrete jungle are the insane ones

At least you don’t need a garden, the grocery store produces more than enough. That’s where meat comes from too!

I grew up in a smalltown but in my adult life I have always been a city slicker. Just way more to do and more fun to be had in the city.

Now maybe this has something to do with my age but cities here aren't what they used to be. Homelessness is reaching insane levels. The riots a summer ago also sucked. Housing is crazy expensive. Suburbs or smalltowns are looking better than they used to.

Canucks go mainly for the weather, ones with kids for Disney. If you ask them, they will say they love the weather but Florida itself is meh.

The best thing about America is the variety of climate and the large amount of towns/cities for basically every taste. Canada kind of sucks in that regard.

That's outdated 10 years. Especially the past few years, they are here to live, live, I know, they are all over and here year round/bought houses etc...

Big difference between suburbs and small towns IMO. I’d personally never want to live in a town with under 20k people or something like that.

But then again im still a youngin so maybe that’ll change as I age. I just don’t like being too far from malls and transit and such. I can’t see myself ever moving more than an hour away from a major metropolitan city.

Isn’t that because housing is cheap there?

There is cheap housing in South Dakota... There are a million reasons for someone to live in Florida.. The quality of life year round is really unmatchable in most places.. There are so many different and cool places in Florida that it would take years to discover them all. It is a big state with something for everyone...

PS: Houseing is not cheap in Florida anymore in the high denisty areas.. I have made a shitload on the value of my house since 2020... I mean I guess if you compare to California it still is.. However, not compared to a lot of other places..

My parents are snowbirds, and almost never leave the gated community in which they live while there.

Yes, this is typical for snowbirds. A trip every few weeks to the mega-liquor store for wine, occasional trip to the beach. Not much else to do unless kids / theme parks.

What if he does come over and continues his 4 ERA, 20% HR/FB, 3 BB/9 clip?

Money isn't the point here, its having the freedom to spend that money on valuable targets. It means we don't have 16M AAV to spend on other legit offseason targets.

I'll just agree to disagree on the whole take 16M AAV on a closer who is trending down for the next 3 years, cause that makes no sense to me.

Oh AND give up prospects on top lol

Certainly not worth the risk, Jays can shop for 1 Edwin Diaz in the offseason.

Montana is the best state though

Colorado is beautiful

As is Idaho and the PNW

Haven’t seen much of the SE. I imagine the Carolinas would suit me just fine

It’s clear Shatkins are taking the Alanta Braves route this year.

I’m fine with it this year. Down years from Bo and Vlad have changed the outlook for this season.

I wouldn't either, those places are top shelf.
