Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Author Posted July 24, 2022 I believe I've seen this s*** through my youngin years through, competitive ball, and especially in hockey. Can't say for sure with many, but the kid's traits don't change. ******* dads are the worst.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 I'm sure it's real. Bo likely doesn't want to talk about it but who knows.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Author Posted July 24, 2022 I'm sure it's real. Bo likely doesn't want to talk about it but who knows. Seems so, as the brothers now really don't talk. As Dante Jr. exiled himself from the family. Must be hard.
Dagagad Verified Member Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 At least one of the assaults on his wife is verified real. He admitted it. The other one seems a little more vague. Cops were called to a domestic dispute. I didn’t dig any deeper.

Dante doesn’t sound like a very great guy. Really hoping Bo doesn’t get caught up repeating the mistakes of his father

Dante doesn’t sound like a very great guy. Really hoping Bo doesn’t get caught up repeating the mistakes of his father Damn if this has a chance to be true I think the club is going to have to distance themselves from Dante Bichette Sr. Just spitballing here but maybe that's why he's no longer employed as an assistant hitting coach by the club.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 Airing out the family’s dirty laundry through Instagram is pathetic. Also, he mentions he suffered the abuse until he “left” at age 26? Left what? Was he living at home until then? Sounds entitled tbh. Also, the team specifically asked Bo if his dad could be up with the big league team to coach and Bo gave his approval. A couple of Instagram posts from the unsuccessful son whining about how he had to flee at age 26 and I’m supposed to join in on canceling a Rockies legend? Pass

Pass That's a pretty terrible look pointing the finger at a potential abuse victim in such a fashion. Just because Bichette is famous it doesn't automatically preclude him from being a rotten piece of s***.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 Lmao what the hell is this crap Its pretty common for children of abusive fathers to repeat the behavior because its seen as normal for them? Im not sure what was so hard to understand. I said I hope Bo doesn’t follow in his father’s footsteps because that s*** does not fly in the 2020s

Im not sure what was so hard to understand. I said I hope Bo doesn’t follow in his father’s footsteps because that s*** does not fly in the 2020s I don't think that kind of behaviour every really flew, it's more like it flew under the radar/was kept under wraps. The recent spade of abuse victims speaking out could very well be giving Bichette Jr. the courage to finally speak out.

I said I hope Bo doesn’t follow in his father’s footsteps because that s*** does not fly in the 2020s Lol you read an Instagram post and immediately thought that Bo Bichette himself might be an abuser. Now you’re doubling down and getting ready to cancel Bo (who’s never been accused of anything and seems like a good guy!) because “that s*** does not fly in the 2020s”. Wow bro way to put Bo on alert! Still not sure why you’re putting him on alert but you did it.

Pass He admitted to striking his 19 year old pregnant wife in the face. That was real. The police were called to his house a year later for a domestic dispute a year later as well. I think it’s way more likely that the guy who hit his pregnant wife also hit his kids, than his kid is making this up. I agree that Bo hasn’t done anything.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Author Posted July 24, 2022 Sad, folks. Yet we need to hear the the other side.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Author Posted July 24, 2022 Term, is trolling. Period.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Author Posted July 24, 2022 I'm just saying I know these dads, terrible... I saw plenty, in all sports.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 Poor vetting by the Jays to hire him in the first place. Some 25% (varies +/- depending on definition) of MLB players would have been subject to physical abuse.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 Concerning revelations/accusations/admissions. I've listened to numerous Dante Bichette interviews. He was on Brett Boone pod last week. Lots of other interviews making it sound like he talks to Bo regularly. Seems surreal. I didn't have a Brady Bunch Dad or family either but its complex and different siblings have dramatically different views and experiences. Wrong is wrong but there are so many layers, complexities and dynamics to families. I'm torn between I'd like to see Dante and Bo address this head on, with this is family business and we all should all stay out of it. Dante doesn't work for the Jays anymore.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 lol... along comes Jim, and his arbitrary numbers. 63% of that stats that Jim provides are 77% accurate, 34% of the time
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 Bo is an extremely private guy from all accounts. Perhaps this issue has been resolved within the family. Either way we shouldn’t be airing it here based on assumptions.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 Which is why I put out the number, Bo is just one of many. No point in focussing on one individual/family. Current numbers suggest it’s about 1 in 7 kids. That’s not 25%.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 Current numbers suggest it’s about 1 in 7 kids. That’s not 25%. There is a wide range, per my original post ("+ / -"). Depends on how physical abuse is defined, there is no accepted definition.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 There is a wide range, per my original post ("+ / -"). Depends on how physical abuse is defined, there is no accepted definition. Then why throw out an arbitrary number? Makes no sense to do that and back it up with “It depends on how physical abuse is defined…” The way you’ve put out that number an attempted to explain is is pure ********.

Makes no sense to do that and back it up with “It depends on how physical abuse is defined…” The way you’ve put out that number an attempted to explain is is pure ********. Not arbitrary, consistent with numbers reported by gov't statisticians. There's not way to get an accurate number, anyway. Only a small percentage of physical abuse of kids is detected. The number can only be estimated. After the fact surveys of adults is likely most accurate, and yet very imprecise.
