wilko Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Of course borucki pitches 2 solid innings against the Jays.... now they throw Romo out there.
Blazeit420 Verified Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Why did biggio bat.. Because Montoyo touches himself at night.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 9, 2022 Author Posted July 9, 2022 Montoyo is being paid to tank the season
Jays333 Verified Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Fitting loss, 11th inning out of pitchers, trot out the guy we picked off the trash pile
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 9, 2022 Author Posted July 9, 2022 Sellers at the deadline? Sell who? Chapman maybe
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Team imploding right before our eyes

wilko Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Heidi's a dime but might have a penis.
Ray Verified Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Getting shut down by Borucki made this loss 1000x worse, even if it was the right decision to DFA him at the time. Bruuuuuuuuutal.
InvincibleTiger Verified Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Hey, at least I cashed my Mariners ML ticket. $500
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 This team is what 8 and 20 the last month? That record is well deserved.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 What in the f*** is going on with MLB.com? I go check out the score and it says the Jays won 4-2 in 11 innings. I look at the scoring plays and it says Bo hit a 2 run homer in the top of 11 to win the game off Borucki. Then I go to watch the highlights and it has the Mariners walking it off. What a low down dirty f***ing deal that was to go through.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 This team is really sputtering, woof
BuffaloWings Verified Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Thank God training camp for the Bills starts at the end of this month. The Jays will likely make the playoffs but a lot of this feels like a repeat of last year.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 lol morale in the fan-base must be at an all time low... Damn bandwagoners! Or you know... ROGERS.

Would agree. He must be smiling so big. That. The baserunning, hitting with RISP and eventually having to hand the ball to Romo for an L sums up season so far. Another season of praying for a late run because we didn't bank enough winnable games earlier awaits us. At least last year we could all cling to run differential. Frustrating.

That's the scary part here. When the Jays were a few games above .500 around the deadline last year they had like a +100 run differential and weren't even allowed to play home games for the first 4 months of the season. You could at least argue that they were grossly underachieving and a 2nd half run like they had was possible. The current team is playing about to their expected levels, and now have injuries/ineffectiveness which is exposing their biggest weaknesses (SP depth and relievers). They'll need a bunch of reinforcements at the deadline, and need to start getting serious here. If they want to be cute and give 500 PA's to Tapia because they want to develop his bat, or calling up scrub after scrub to pitch out of the pen, then be prepared for these results.

Was surprised and happy for a few minutes until I checked the box score.

I wrote you an eeyore PM vent the day after the season ended last year as i was so frustrated about all the "next year" "building block" season. All the talk about having to play not at home when net net they also benefitted from those minor league parks with the long ball. ya da ya da. Development and improvement is not linear. Look at SFG this year. You have to take advantage of things lining up. I don't yet buy this FO is building a perennial contender. Too many big decisions coming on more big contracts, deal misses and not enough pitching development. I thought we had such cheap, unicorn seasons from so many in 2021 we squandered it all. That team in '21 with a LH thumper and some pen filth would have been tough to play against. So far its playing out in my worst case scenario concerns as another core year is burning. I remain hopeful I'm wrong and it turns around. I'm not interested in selling everything for a 3 gm away series wildcard. Expectations were much higher. I'm in TOR in July a couple times for meetings and Im not going to any more games unless they start playing better. Just a waste of time/money. I went to the 4 gms to split with BAL 2-2. Wasn't pretty. They are still in it to be sure but they are what their record is so far.

Only 2 batters came to the plate that inning and the score tracker/gameday program had an aneurysm thinking the Mariners batter was the 3rd Jays batter
